My Five Favorite Ways to Style a Bookcase

Happy September friends!
Do you stand in front of your bookcase with your collection of accessories
organized and set to go...then cautiously begin placing them...all the while questioning
yourself with each book, vase, or thoughtfully purchased accessory?
I've got you covered this month, along with my blogging pals, we're sharing lots of tips
and inspiration to make it easy!

Let's get to the ideas...

#1 - Hanging Artwork

I love how artwork can completely change the vibe of your bookcase,
and how easily an antique piece or modern abstract compliments books.
If you have large built-in bookcases using a generous size piece will take up a good
 deal of space, too!

#2 - Backward Books

I know this is always controversial, but I still do it all the time, my family is used to it,
it just takes a tad more time to find what you're looking for!  :)
It looks less busy to me when the colors are cohesive.
I like to lighten things up for spring and summer, and depending on my fall/winter decor
I turn them around for a warmer cozy look.

 #3 - Solid Color Vases

Unique, sophisticated and as easy as collecting a variety of sizes!

House Beautiful

This is my family room from SIX! years ago, although my style has changed the
idea is still the same. The majority of my vases were thrift store finds that I spray
painted.

#4 - Nature

Everything looks better with a little life and texture courtesy of Mother Nature!
Plants, succulents, fruit, dried grass or foliage, seashells, pine cones.

#5 - Contrasting Paint

Painting the background of your bookcases a contrasting color will completely transform
the look, and highlight your books and accessories in a fresh updated way.
