potted boxwoods and evergreens...

I'm going to be ready to jump on it when the truck pulls into Home Depot
filled with boxwoods and evergreens. Remember last year, I found them and
tipped you off, I'm counting on the same amazing deal again this year.

On my 2013 to-do list I included this inspiration photo with plans to add potted
boxwoods and evergreens to our deck and patio.

Although they'll be more this size...

Maybe I'll mix in a few larger ones...

And some of the tall Cypress evergreens...

Do you like them neatly trimmed...

Or au naturel...

My friend Linda just read they're the most popular shrub, check out what she's planning.
Maybe I can find a spot for one of those, too!

Do you have any new landscape plans on the horizon?

one room challenge...week 1

It's underway...I'm thrilled to be joining all of the talented bloggers above!
My 1938 bathroom will be getting an update.
We remodeled ten years ago, updating the original pink and burgundy tile, and fixtures. I
chose travertine, neutral fixtures, and re-purposed a French style cabinet as the vanity, ten
years ago that idea was cutting edge. :)  Heavily textured walls, an oversized ornate mirror, traditional sconces, bright gold, my own little Tuscan style, Italian Villa like bathroom....
and I'm over it!

Today my favorite style is a mix of traditional with a modern vibe,
a neutral palette that can easily adapt to my ever changing tastes,
and I love including something unexpected.

Here's the before, check out the hunt scene on that vanity.

Lovely curtains I made...ha!
Nice styling with my Clarisonic and dead fall leaves, too.

I searched long and hard for that matching art.
See the heavy texture on the walls, just paid $$$ to have it covered up!

Actually, the plan has already changed since yesterday.

I love David Hicks La Fiorentina pattern, but it's pricey, so I decided to diy my own stencil
(since it worked out well for me here)  very loooong story short...

So...I've decided stripes are my new favorite, along with the planned Bansuri ikat
 valance and roman shade !

The vanity will get a fresh coat of paint.

vanity with Benjamin moore Moonshine paint

The unexpected...swing arm sconces.

Gorgeous Bathrooms

A rug like this would make me extra happy ~ not happening at $7800 from ABC Home,
but a something similar would work. :)

Gotta run, I've got stripes to paint today!

Thank you to Linda @ My Crafty Home Life for rounding up this fun group of
bloggers. Be sure to check out all their fabulous posts today and every Wednesday for
the next six weeks, it's inspiration overload and you won't want to miss it!
