Gorgeous! I have always wanted one of those, but that means I need to get a bird, and thats just one more thing to have to worry about unless I got a pretty fake one and just perched him on a ledge...hummmmmm!

My husband would love to have a bird but I always feel so bad for them in those cages! But this is certainly a pretty and big cage. Have a great weekend.

Noooo! Fill it with a fake one. ;) I had a pet bird growing up. It was LOUD and I had to vacuum feathers daily!

So gorgeous! I actually happened upon a similar birdcage on Craigslist right after we had moved and I passed it up because I was living amongst piles of boxes and couldn't fathom bringing more stuff into our house at that point. Wish I had gotten it!

A friend who has a bird offered to give me her beautiful old one. It's painted cream and has an arch at the top. It's a Taj Mahal of bird cages and very large. I think I'm going to take it to put my crafts in in my creative space.

Now THAT'S a birdcage! I just moved a sorta-big bird cage out of the study and was debating getting rid of it...now I have to keep it!

Really gorgeous!

Here is my little pet bird story. We had 3 adorable parakeets about ten years ago. I let them out in the house every morning, they would just fly between our bay windows in the living and dining rooms. One day I had the cage outside on the front porch which I did regularly for fresh air. I came back to bring it in and the cage was knocked over, they were gone. We thought one of our dogs might have knocked it over as he jumped up to bark at the UPS delivery man bc there was a package left next to the door. I called and called for them the next few days, leaving the cage open and ready for them to return. Sadly , we never saw them again. ;o( Have always wanted to build a big outdoor aviary. Martha has a beautiful huge birdcage in her dining room, have you seen it?

So fun - such a unique thing to decorate with. Who needs the bird? Not that this has anything to do with anything, but my sister in law has the most awesome hot pink wallpaper with birdcages all over it in a tiny powder room. I have always loved how whimsical it is!

That is one beautiful birdcage... No bird needed! How lovely just to sit in a sunroom. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend!

Funny story: my husband & I bought a vintage birdcage while we were out of town, had to fly home with it carry-on. We were stopped going through security because the birdcage came with a fake bird that was laying at the bottom of the cage -- they thought we were traveling with a dead bird! (We ended up ditching the dead-looking bird and used the cage on our porch with a plant in it).

I came across a really lovely old bird cage and could not find a space in my house for it so I ended up selling it in my booth. At least someone gets to enjoy it!!
