my latest steals...

These treasures have been stashed away for awhile, I found them before the holidays but
hadn't decided where to put them. Actually, I'm still not sure!

This console with cane shelves, bamboo style legs and pretty brass details
is 60" long and was $20! It showed up on Craigslist late the night before Thanksgiving.
I knew it would be gone in a flash, and convinced Mr. Simple that we needed it :) and I would
be so thankful if he went downtown to get it for me while I slaved in the kitchen.

I love the brass details...

This pair of brass lamps were a thrifting find that was meant to be!
I was headed to a friend's house and she was running late, we were chatting about the
logistics and she suggested I waste a few minutes at a thrift store close by. I spotted them
for $10 each, but didn't take them - crazy I know! Later on that evening I came to my senses
and mentioned them to her, when she went to pick them up they were 1/2 price!
Yep, $5 each, beautiful finials (which I didn't take a photo of) and a nice wood base.
I do have a plan for these and can't wait to get them situated and show you!
 I was trying out a shade - it's from Target, $18.
I'm debating if it's ok, or if a little larger would be better. Chime in if you have an opinion.

In case you didn't notice that's my unfinished gallery wall I mentioned in my

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends,
and thank you for stopping by!

Oh wow Pam, that table?! The Mister going to get it on Thanksgiving? I am speechless at how cool both are! And seriously $5 lamps - only you and your savvy thrifting skills (even if accidental) could score those!! Have fun with your new decor-toys :)

Dying!!!! First, my husband would never go and get it without me....ever. Glad you got it. And yes, I actually think a slightly larger shade without any taper to it at all. Good luck!

Love those shelves and I have that lamp that I inherited from my mom- classically good. I got the bigger shades from Target with gold liners for $24.00. Enjoy! Have a great weekend. xo Nancy

Sweet finds! That table is awesome and you know how I feel about lamps. I would have wrestled those away from you if I had been there. Love the black shades. I think a tad bigger would look great too.

You are the best Craigslist shopper ever. You need to spill your shopping secrets because I NEVER find great things like that console (which I'm in love with by the way). And those lamps? Great finds!!

$5 each?!?! That is insane. And wonderful.

Love it all ... go for bigger shade! And the fact that you got your husband to do this. You might need to start another blog with husband tips! xo

Love the console!! Can you share your Craigslist tips on how to search?

Great bargains! I love them. I really like the black shades, but maybe a little longer (just my opinion though!). Glad to see brass still 'agrees' with someone out there - Ha! I like it too and just can't get over it. Have a great weekend!

Hi Pam, just found your blog hunting for tips about Fiddle Leaf Figs...I read your post from July and wondered how your tree is doing? Coincidently, I live in Denver also and am trying to navigate giving my tree the humidity it needs. Beautiful blog by the way. We don't share the same style, but your photography is so nice I'll be following along!

Great find on the console. Can't wait to see what you do with it! Great detail! Loving your gallery wall, too. Rule of thumb on shades... about double the width of base on a full base. A shorter harp would bring it down a touch, too. Voila! You always have refreshingly great ideas!! You got me on the headboard on your room makeover. So fabulous!

Have a magnificent weekend~

Great finds! I'm in love with that table and I love the empty frames because I've been living with empty frames for years - YEARS! I walk by my dresser to look at a lovely couple that are complete strangers to me. ;) Maybe one day I'll get our pic in there. ha.

Those lamps are so good! I don't think the shade is too bad...it's tough to say. It's so hard to find reasonable shades that are larger than what they have a Target! That's why I had to adjust my big shades from Ikea for my green lamps. And the table...sigh. It's so pretty. Love where your gallery wall is headed, it's going to look great!

Wow, I need to stay on top of Craigslist. Although, truthfully, I think my area's Craigslist finds kinda suck. Boo.

To answer a couple questions - the frames were a crazy good find at Goodwill last summer, I think I got 11! I'm still waffling about what to put in them - either black and white or a collection of colorful abstracts.

Hill ~ my fiddle leaf fig is doing much better, I think I was over watering. I water once a week, and give it about 2 cups. It did drop a few more leaves, but keeps getting new growth! Good luck with yours!

Aaaaaagggghhh! What great finds Pam! I LOVE that table, so unique and beautiful and those lamps? $5??? I wouldn't believe it If I didn't score one myself recently ( not a pair though)! You are one lucky lady, can't wait to see it all styled up!

Excellent post I must express my gratitude for the information. I enjoy reading your posts and anticipate more. It is a Four-Sided Dice called D4, usually used in tabletop role-playing games. In Dungeons & Dragons, d4 dice are used for low-damage attacks.
