It's crazy I know, but it worked! :)
When I first started reading blogs I completely stalked this lady, she is the epitome of
chic, a classic style with a bit of hip in everything she does, and all with four kiddos!
While reading her birthday wish list a couple days ago I saw this fabulous bamboo clutch but
it was out of my price range for a fun little purse that would only hold a phone and credit card.
I was smitten with the mint color and then the light bulb...
I had a bamboo-ish, wicker handbag that I kind of liked but never used, I raced to
Home Depot, what, no mint colored spray paint? Michael's to the rescue,
Krylon in Catalina Mist was exactly what I had in mind.
A little Gold Rub 'n Buff gave the white leather some pizzazz.
It has a fabric lining, I taped off before painting.
I can't wait to use it!
I think I'll pair it with navy and white polka dots tomorrow, or maybe
black and white stripes!
What's the craziest thing you've ever spray painted?

I love it, so fresh and classic at the same time. You simply oooz style, my friend.
I laughed out loud when I saw the title of your post - there's absolutely nothing that's safe with us, is there?
I can just imagine the conversation in my house..........
BUT It turned out great!!!
You doing your shoes to match?
XOXOXO
I used to clear spray paint my white canvas tennis shoes to keep them clean. Works better than Scotch Guard.
Helped a friend dye a dress that had bleach spots yesterday. I had forgotten how easy it is to salvage a "ruined" item.
Great idea and great post!
LOVE IT!!!! Brilliant!
This is amazing! Love it! Have a great weekend!
such a great idea to get some more mileage out of a purse!
Laughing and loving... thank you for the inspiration. Headed to spray something... I am so inspired!
Hahha, I never would have even thought to do this. It really does look great. Now that's a new one.
Cute! I tried spray painting an office chair once....gong show....the paint just sat on top of the fabric. 2 cans of spray paint later I finally gave up and threw the chair out.
Oh that is clever! Now I'm going through all my bags I haven't used in years to see what trouble I can get into!!
It looks great! Your blog is very inspiring!
So funny Pam.. I read your blog post title and thought it was an accident! Looks great and the color is gorgeous!!
That's the perfect summer shade- love the make over!
Great job on the purse - love that color! This is OT, but I remember you bought an Ektorp sectional for your family room last year. I was wondering how you are liking it (or not liking it), and if you would purchase it again? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.
so cute! what would we do without spray paint? :)
Way Cool Pam! Such a great idea to get what you like without the price tag!
That is just the coolest! The gold really gives it the finishing touch. Very clever!
Great idea! You got my wheels spinnin. Love the purse even more with the color and the gold is the cherry on top!
i love that you spray painted your purse...great color. several years ago one of my BFF's had a pair of copper colored cowboy(cowgirl?) boots that were looking pretty down and out...so she got some copper spray paint and sprayed them....only problem was she was afraid to wear them in the rain! when her husband got home and saw what she'd done, he just rolled his eyes..but when she told me i "got" it! maybe that says something "weird" about me?!
How stinking cute! I can't believe you diy-ed your purse! You are awesome.
so far Ive just spray painted chairs, lamps and the like. This is great, Pam, I love it. Seleta is the best, too.
Enjoy sporting your darling bag!
xo Nancy
Love your purse!
Many years ago I spray painted a pair of high-heeled shoes a metallic gold to wear to a party. I should have stopped at that instead of adding a heavy sprinkling of glitter which ended up all over the dance floor. Never again!
I am in love with this purse. The mint green is what caught my eye. I'm glad you used a satin finish or it may have attracted scuffs more with a flat finish would though I bet that too would have looked wonderful with the mint color. What a great idea!
Christmas gifts for the ladies in my life idea too!
You are so clever. I would have been nervous to try it but now I can think of a few things that could use a can of spray paint. Thanks!
Oh the wonders of spray paint!! The purse looks so cute for summer- great idea!
I sprayed vinyl upholstery and it worked like a charm. You are cracking me up that you sprayed your price, but dang, it looks so much better! I think the polka dots version is going to be super cute.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that purse! What a great idea! I think the only things I've ever spray painted are flower pots and wicker chairs...boring, I know! Thanks for this great tip here!
Genius! I love how it turned out! :)
Now this is a first for me - I've never seen a spraypainted purse - but why not, right? Love how it came out, especially with the R&B detail!
Love your Ike's hack nesting tables, and I am totally smitten with mint myself. Live your mint purse, funnily enough I psred a mint purse in a mintspiration post I did last week. Think I should get some spray paint!
So chic! I should try that on one of mine!!!!
