help me decide...

...on my big, bold kitchen artwork, please!

One day last month, while waiting for my framing at Hobby Lobby,
I was mindlessly browsing through their nondescript posters without any intention
of finding one that would make me stop and think,
"Why on earth haven't I ever looked at these before!"

The decision is either #1 Framed or #2 Unframed

#1  Framed

#2   Unframed, mounted on a board

Of course, they would be trimmed to fit in the space.

I know you all love to share your opinion, so tell me what you think!

Gwyneth and I have discussed and decided that you can't go wrong - the print and your kitchen are so beautiful! We'd go unframed, but it's a tough call!!

I think I like framed...it gives a little extra definition, but I don't think you could go wrong either way! Cool print!

I vote for framed too - I like that it mimics the border detail over your stovetop! I love the print....I might have to be your twin and get the same one! :)

Oh framed for sure! Gives it a purpose, love the print. Sometimes mindless shopping pays off.

I'm defnitely in on framed! The gold detail adds a touch of elegance!

I get excited when I see "Help Me Decide" as a blog post title. I really love the framed look - warm and polished.

Yes, we do love to give opinions! I am leaning towards framed too but either way it is a perfect print for the space!

Framed! Is it visually close to your dining room and your pretty framed flamingos? I bet it's the piece that ties it all together!

Love the print! What a hard choice. I'm leaning towards unframed - I like the contrast between its simplicity and how sophisticated everything else is in the room. Good luck!

I vote framed! It makes it pop more!

i am going against the grain entirely- i like it unframed better! i think it is busier framed and i think the unframed look lends to a more casual feel.

Unframed! I like the simpler look. But framed would be fine too if that is what you decide!!!

Hi, Pam. Love your "Denver-based" posts - Women's Final Four and 16th Street Mall from yesterday.

I vote for framed - would look better with your nieche (sp?) above the stove top. Great print!

Framed - Stunning!!! (I was going to say "makes it pop", but good grief, that's what EVERYONE else said. that'll teach me to work first and do personal stuff later....)

Oh, it is beautiful. I'm a novice, but I immediately thought it "pops" more when framed. It is perfect for your amazing kitchen.

I would frame it. The frame adds better contrast between the print and the backdrop of the vent hood which is also a light color. Love it!

Girl, you certainly got help on this today!!! I'm in the crowd that thinks you can't go wrong either way.... but, if it were me, I'd probably go unframed for it's casual, less expensive (and less guilt if you decide to change it out)look.

Unframed I think when framed it competes with the framework behind the stove. Unframed is soft and subtle, but still adds a nice touch. Kathysue

Oh I think I'm going to have to be different...I like it better unframed. I think the frame will compete with the detail on the backsplash. Love it though!

Framed (but not to sure about the dark wood frame - is that an optional choice too?) Can't wait to see the finished shot... the peek of the kitchen looks fab! Thanks for sharing... Jalon

I like it unframed.... I think it looks a little cleaner, simpler, more modern. That said, I put some new, unframed canvas artwork in our tv room and my son said "oh, did you cover some pizza boxes?". Smart aleck.
We all laughed but they do kinda look like art on pizza boxes... Depends on how formal you want to be. Your kitchen looks gorgeous!

I like it unframed best. I think it's a great idea but I think the frame makes it too heavy on the hood.

I think I'd like it framed in a wood that's a bit lighter. I do love changing it to more of a square!

Unframed....no hard edges or competing squares. Effotless floating effect.

I think I like it unframed. It's more unexpected.

Unframed looks lighter and fresher in my opinion. What a beautiful kitchen you have!

Well the Kollar house is divided. I think framed competes with the tile framing down below. Would the frame be repainted or stay the same color? Neutral could be nice. You have a lot of framed art so I like the idea of mixing it up a little. However, Karl and Sophie vote frame in its current color.

I would frame it. You can even add a layer of modge podge and it will look like a painting rather than a print.
I enjoy your blog so much-you have wonderful style!

Tiffany @ {Living Savvy} said...

I would frame it! I think it adds a more finished touch to the poster!

Joanne B. said...

How about mod podging it onto a square canvas and having the print wrapped onto the sides of the canvas. Then maybe more layers of mod podge would make it look like a painting...Love your simple style!

I vote framed!

I'm leaning towards unframed since the back splash below it has some sort of framing already. It will make the artwork float much more freely :)

I like unframed in that space. You have a lot of angles and hard surfaces and something unframed, with a delicate subject matter like the floral, will soften the space. It is perfect, Pam!

Hello Pam,

I like the clean look and it usually includes matching frames. I know boring.

How about a frame that matches the cream below on above the stove or give it a pop with a gold ornate frame.

Enjoy your day!
