Bedroom Refresh with Crane & Canopy

There's nothing like spring to get you in the mood for a refresh around the house, right?
Well, my client happened to find a fabric she fell in love with and wanted to use it as
inspiration for a bedroom refresh. Do you remember the Craigslist Bedroom I did a couple
years ago for the One Room Challenge? That's the one!
We intentionally kept the base pieces in the room neutral so it would be simple to change
up down the road. This time she wanted to incorporate some of her blue and white pottery
collection, and tie it in with the pretty chinoiserie patterned fabric she loved,
which we put on a custom lumbar pillow.
I was so excited when Crane & Canopy reached out to me to try their bedding, I knew
the exact pattern that would pull our room together perfectly!

We love it!
We chose the Crane & Canopy Page Blue reversible duvet cover and shams, both reverse
from white on one side to the navy print on the other. Super easy to change up...next time!
Both feature hidden zipper enclosures and white piping for a tailored finish. Interior ribbons
on the corners keep your duvet in place. And, they're machine washable!

Sometimes I'm hesitant ordering online because I really like to feel everything, haha!
We were pleasantly surprised, the bedding has a beautifully, silky luxurious feel.
They use the highest quality extra long-staple cotton with weaves ranging in the
300-400 thread count, and it feels fabulous.
I did not know...
that 1000 thread count sheets are actually not good!
To get 1000 thread you need to use really thin threading, and the sweet spot for duvet
covers and sheets is 400, so that explains it.

We added a vibrant green trim to give the shams a custom look and set off the
pretty green in the lumbar fabric.
Accessories for our refresh came from my go-to, Homegoods. We found the pair of tall
brass and white lamps, shell artwork, blue and white pottery, and blue ikat throw
 pillows there.

If you missed the original before and after design of this bedroom for the
One Room Challenge you might be surprised to know it was done on a budget with
Craigslist finds (nightstands, x-benches, ceiling chandelier) IKEA (drapes) and my
favorite upholstered headboard from Walmart. All sources can be found here.
Crane & Canopy is able to offer reasonably priced luxurious bedding because they
go direct to the best bedding factories, cutting out the middle man and passing the
 savings on to their customers!

One of my blogging besties, Lisa @ Shine Your Light, is also sharing a bedroom
refresh today. I know we're in for a treat, here's a peek of her teen room for you:

Thank you so much to Crane & Canopy for the invitation to try their beautiful
quality bedding, it couldn't be more perfect, and we couldn't be happier with it!

Oooooh I love the blue & white bedding. It looks so fantastic with the lumbar pillow fabric and the green trim on the shamsl! This room is one of my favorites of yours, I've shared it a million times with clients and I'm impressed it how you were able to totally change the color palette with just the bedding and accessories this time around!

I love how you created such a beautiful chameleon base that can be changed up so easily for very little $. Love the Zen toile, the customized Crane and Canopy bedding, and your beautiful styling. Such an inviting sanctuary!

I love it! I never find such treasures on my local Craigslist. I do need to shop Homesense more often though.
I love this duvet and adding the green ribbon to the shams is the perfect touch. I want to refresh my guest room. It has two light blue & flax check chairs that I have to work around. I was going to go with simple white but would like to add a dash of color and pattern on the bed. Any suggestions?

I love how that little bit of pattern totally transforms your beautifully designed room... you improved on perfection! And how smart to add the trim to the euros, totally takes them over the top! (I really love those lamps, too!)

A great post--I loved the room before and love it now. I'm going to buy ribbon today!! I was delighted to see a new post by you. I've missed reading about your decor ideas.

The bedroom looks great! I clicked back to the original post to check out the original sources for the room and can't tell you how much I LOVE the Walmart bed!!! It looks great and it's inspiring to see you looking for great deals wherever they may be found. I know most in the blog-o-sphere are Target and Homegoods only gals, and I love it that you'll look everywhere for great stuff at the best price. I'm thinking about buying that bed now. I buy most things used, but that's a true bargain. Thanks for your awesome blog:)

Love the reresh! I used Zen in my ORC Black Walled library and I love it still. Such a gret chinoiserie fabric. I feel like my first ORC ever, a guest room, really needs some refresh love. You have motivated me to get with it!

Hello, I was looking at your post on the Craig’s list bedroom competition , the blue and white version . . What a beautiful room . What color did you end up going with on the padded headboard , beige or gray ? Again, what a wonderful bedroom design .
