ORC - craigslist bedroom details

I can't thank you all enough for all of your kind words about our One Room Challenge
Craigslist Bedroom Makeover, it was such a fun project and your enthusiasm and
wonderful comments are truly icing on the cake!
We set out to create a beautiful room on a budget and are happy to share our
sources. We splurged on a couple special items, but of course, were completely
justified because of the money we saved on so many Craigslist scores at great prices.

Headboard
Our first purchase was the upholstered headboard from Walmart.
Better Homes and Gardens Grayson Headboard
4 1/2 Stars and 637 Reviews
$149 - Free Shipping AND Returns (including Pick Up from your home)
I can't tell you how impressed we are with the quality and service, we debated on
colors and ended up ordering both so we had first hand experience with the
hassle free return process.

Drapery Panels
Ikea Ritva Panels - $25/pair
By far my favorite draperies for the price, if you'd like more ideas I did a post about
them here. I always sew a pleat in the top to give them a more professional look.
We sprayed Ikea clips and rings gold.

Bedding
White Comforter and Shams - Hotel Collection - Homegoods
Bedskirt - Home Classic - Kohl's
Threshold Organic Blanket - Clownfish Orange -  Target
Ivory Faux Fur Throw - Client owned - World Market
(we customized by adding Greek Key trim from Hobby Lobby)

Fabric
Square Pillows - Thom Filicia - Citysquare - Terratone
Lumbar - Braemore - Journey Ikat - Fruity
Upholstery on X Benches - Sabu Dove Gray

Accessories
Lamps - Homegoods
White Pierced Ginger Jars & Vases - Homegoods & Thrifted
Sunburst Mirror - Martha Stewart - Home Depot
Art - Homegoods

Craigslist Finds
Campaign Chests - Nightstands - $60
Wisteria X Benches - $150
Ceiling Pendant - $175
Media Cabinet - $275
Ornate Gold Mirror - $125

Paint Colors
Walls & Ceiling - Benjamin Moore - Simply White
Trim - Benjamin Moore - Marscapone
Media Cabinet - Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Pure White

That's it until the next One Room Challenge  - mark your calendars, friends!

I love everything about this room Pam! I can't believe the headboard price! Although I boycott Walmart I might just have to order from them just once:)

This is such an awesome room - thanks for sharing your sources! Would love more details on how you added the pleats to the curtains - this sewing-impaired girl needs a step by step explanation if I have any chance of getting it right :)

You are very generous to list your sources - thank you! I love that fabric on the benches and need it for my living room! Can we discuss of you pleated the drapes??????????? I need help with that. There must be a youtube video for that out there!

Pam, I am still pinching myself over the beautiful retreat you created for me. I could not love it more! It is so pretty but functional too. Thank you again for sharing your time and talent. You truly have the strongest work ethic of anyone I know, and you could not be more fun to work with! Only problem: I don't want to leave my room!

I think you did an amazing job and I love that you really work the budget to get every inch out of every dollar.

You did a gorgeous job on the room!...thanks for the source list!

The room is absolutely gorgeous! As an avid Craigslist searcher, I'm intrigued by the media cabinet and would love to find something like that to incorporate into my own master bedroom. Do the doors open completely so you can watch tv or did you have to rework the doors?

This room is beautiful, Pam! Great work! I am so impressed how much you found and what great quality all your items from Craig's list are!! Love all the gold touches too! :)

I may never bother making my own headboard ever again. Why bother when you can get one (with nailheads!) profesionally made for an affordable price?
I'm glad your friend went ahead with the gold trim on the doors. So pretty.

Is the headboard the grey or the oatmeal?

Hi Lauren - It's oatmeal, we tried the gray as well, in this post it shows both colors:

You have created very beautiful room with limited resources and save money also. It is very inspiring and using creative ideas. After hard working for renovation, you and your skin need rest and energetic treatments. Great skin doesn’t happen by chance it happens from a good skin care treatment. As we live in an era of smoke and pollution our facial skin requires certain treatments.Best vitamin C serum for glowing skin is the first preference of those who know the importance of healthy skin. All the materials used in serum are imported from the UK. Vitamin C serum doesn't make skin glow itself but with a combination of other ingredients.
