cozy up your white slipcovers

There's no debating the benefits of slipcovers and the fresh, crisp look that's so popular
for spring and summer, but come fall and winter it's easy to cozy them up with
simple pieces that you can score on Craigslist, your local thrift store, or maybe even
your basement or attic.
My favorite is to mix in warm wood tones ~ an antique side table, rustic coffee table,
a trunk, bamboo piece, carved wood table, or wicker trunk
~ the warmth and texture can't be beat ~
Warm brass accents, rugs, a cuddly throw, velvet pillows, and piles of books are great
accessories to include when creating a comfy space.
I love to analyze photos like these for ideas and especially to study the mix of styles
they've incorporated.

Did you find a favorite idea to steal? :)

So interesting that they used a runner in that first image. Loved it.

Every time I think I don't like slipcovers, I see something like this and I want them. The one with the leopard pillow is my favorite.

So much inspiration - it gives me some great idea for changing up my EKTORP sofa and makes me realize that I should mix some warm woods into what I already have in my living room.

I used to 'hate' slipcovers but looking at these made me think otherwise! The right fabric and cut can truly turn your sofa around, now I just have to find someone to make it for me!

I've always been afraid of a white couch, but the thought of being able to wash the slipcover is making me a lot more interested! :)

There's a wealth of wonderful ideas in these photos. You put together a great collection, and I am saving this to refer back to. I love the one with the leopard pillow (of course).

Such a great post Pam!! I love that versatility with white or neutral slipcovers.....you can go all light and summery or totally cozy depending on accessories. Your family room is one of my greatest inspirations....the way you change it up for the seasons really gives the room such a fresh feel every time you share it!

I pinned so many of these! The more wrinkled the better, almost- that's the look and the best thing is to throw them in the wash.. Great post. xo Nancy

I have a white slipcovered sofa. I could never have a regular upholstered sofa again. Being able to wash my covers makes me feel like my home is clean.
I have a seagrass rug under it layered with a cow hide. My dream is to have an antique Persian or Oriental rug. Due to the large size my room requires, it may never happen. I would need to sell an organ or win the lottery to be able to afford one.

Such gorgeous images and I totally agree with adding a touch of warmth with wood, throws, and pillows…I still have gallery walls on the brain and the ones in these images are amazing!

I love my white slipcovers! My favorite way to change things up for the season are fun pillows and a warm cozy throw! Which reminds me - I could use a new pretty throw - ours are all looking worn and no-so-pretty!
