one room challenge...

Let the Challenge begin!
I'm not sure how I got on the list, but I'm thankful to be included with these 19 talented
bloggers, again! We have 6 weeks to makeover a room and we'll be posting our progress
every Wednesday until the final reveal. A huge thank you to the brilliance behind the ORC,
Linda @ Calling it Home, and to Jennifer @ The Pink Pagoda for our banner below.

I'll be making over our Master Bedroom, if you don't know we live in a 1938
cottage style home. Charm has it's drawbacks, for one our bedroom is 13' x 11'!
Add two doors, a closet, a bay window and a radiator and you barely have room
for a bed ~ a challenge in itself!
My goal is to make the most of the space we have, include elements to give the illusion
of a larger luxurious master suite space, use my favorite Craigslist and Ikea finds to keep
it budget friendly, and of course, include lots of DIYs! :) It's been years since I've done
anything to it, so I'll just get to the loveliness...

BEFORE

Craigslist Photo - I just sold the bed                      The windows and radiator, perfect for drapes :)

Opposite side of room - Closet door and door to hallway

 The second door.

THE PLAN
My love for David Hicks' La Fiorentina pattern lives on, after my big diy disaster in
the last challenge I've figured out a way to include it... :)

My favorite style is antique mixed with a modern vibe...

An Ikea Rast Hack is in order...

That's all I'm spilling for now, see you next Wednesday!

Be sure to stop by and check out the rooms these bloggers will be
transforming:

A new twist this time around, the One Room Challenge is open to everyone!
Join in the fun! You can find all the details for linking up tomorrow over at

I love cottages and appreciate all of the quaintness. Now that the kids are getting older, this would be perfect for me and the Mr. I really can't wait to see how you will recreate that La Fiorentina. Seriously, if you find a headboard like that carved one....I will bow down to your hunting skills. It's perfect. And an Ikea hack is always a winner in my book. Thanks for playing.

If you find a bed like that I will die. Period.
Can't wait to see how you work your magic on this room!

Tiny rooms really live up to the name "challenge" but I am sure your space will knock our socks off.

I'm excited to see what you come up with! La Fiorentina is a fave of mine, as well. I'm going to try to work it into my living room in some form. --And I understand the challenge of a tiny bedroom -- my 1940s master bedroom is even smaller than yours!

Drooling over that headboard in your inspiration pic! I'm looking forward to following your progress!!
