latest dumpster dive

This could be my favorite 'free' find yet!

Don't you think it's screaming for some amazing hardware?
Tilt your head to the left, it has nine drawers but each drawer appears divided
into two, thus an opportunity for a pretty statement to be repeated 18 times!!
I can't wait to start looking for something interesting to customize it,
and then the decision of what color to paint it...

The possibilities are endless...

Henry Link Bali Hai dresser, painted blue
Erin from 110 + 2 here
Turquoise Dresser

gray bedroom silver leaf dresser

Jenny @ Little Green Notebook here
Black painted buffet
Jenny @ Little Green Notebook here
Green dresser at the Viceroy. Love that color!

one fish two fish decor

gray bamboo dresser! i want

Thank you Mr. Simple for hauling it through the neighborhood streets for me!

Would you stop and pick up a 'free' find?

Why not? If it's free and you can do whatever you want with it, might as well try to make something of it! Good luck w yours! x

I picked up an 'abused' set of dining chairs that need a makeover...and I would do it again! Can't wait to see the makeover you give this!

I scope out the curbside finds and ask my husband to go back and scoop them up. He even rushed home from a run early one morning on his own to grab the car and pick up two chairs he knew I would like. He's trained well :) That piece is fantastic as is, but can't wait to see you work your magic on it!

Looks like you're going to be busy! Free pieces give you the chance to be creative with your decisions since you won't feel like you ruined something you once paid big bucks for. Wondering what's next...

OOOOO how fun a find is that! I would definitely stop for a free find if I had the capability of getting it home! I can't wait to see your end result. You KNOW I'd vote for white - or grey!!

Phew I'm in over here! Sorry for that urgent message - that was weird!
Okay I'm loving this piece - you inspire me with the potential you see in pieces - I just dragged my kids through the Salvation Army thrift store yesterday and was afraid to take the plunge with anything (as usual). These painted dressers are fabulous! Can't wait to see what you do with your newest find!

Awesome piece! I feel like the hardware will totally make this piece, for sure. So many possibilities! Do you have a spot in mind for it, or did you just pick it up cause it was too good to pass up? I feel like I don't need any furniture, so I might have passed on that, but I know you'll make it look so good, it could replace something I already have!
Have fun!

What a fabulous find, clearly thrown out by someone with no imagination! I cannot wait to see how you transform it.

Oh hey, is that George Clooney hoisting your find up the driveway? :) I'd certainly stop for this. I've been looking for something for our living room forever and this would be great. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I can't wait to see what you do with that chest. It's going to fit really well with your great style.

Lori said...

I can't wait to see what you do with your chest-add legs, some cool hardware I'm sure. As you know, I proudly picked up curbside freebies (pretty chairs that are on my list to makeover). I agree with the comment-free so less pressure if I mess up!

Lori said...

Pardon me! I should have written "the" chest. I'm pretty sure you won't be adding legs and cool hardware to yours! Sounds painful!

OH EMMM GEEE!!!

Gwyneth and I are catching up this afternoon (blogs for me, sleep for Gwyneth), and I just shrieked so loudly when I saw your new find that I woke up Gwyneth (and probably anyone else on our floor taking a Sunday afternoon nap)!

Wow - what a find!! Cannot wait to see what you do with this gem! Must go back to breathing into a paper bag now...
