rub 'n buff project preview...

Do you guys remember when I found my dining chairs from Craigslist, they
came with a table, that I gifted to my sweet neighbor, and a buffet with hutch!

I was undecided on a color to paint the buffet, which ended up in our living room,
(the hutch is in the garage awaiting its fate)
and I liked the warm wood tones with all of my neutrals
especially for fall and winter, so...

I decided on a little Rub 'n Buff in Gold Leaf to give it some pizazz for the season.
(Btw, I get R 'n B at Hobby Lobby)

I'm still finishing up, but it will be ready next week with some
fall decor and my favorite update....new pillows....in fresh unexpected hues!
Any guesses what colors I'll be including?

So glad that you left your piece wood for now, and the gold accents are the perfect touch!

The gold is a really nice touch, and works so well with the hardware! Looking forward to seeing the reveal when it's all finished up!

Oh, I am guessing purple. You are doing a great job with the rub n buff. That stuff can by tricky to work with.

I really like that little bit of gold on it! Just bought my first tube this weekend and plan on using it on my lamp bases. Is it really tricky to use? Any tips?

As much as I LOVE painted furniture I love wood tones mixed in with it. This piece looks great as is and I love how you accented it with the r&b! Great idea Pam!!
Can't wait to see it all dressed up!

What a classy update. I love a good R+B project! I've been known to cover an entire curtain rod in that good stuff ;)

Perfect application for the product! I don't believe Rub and Buff is not meant to be an overall cover paint. It looks best when done as you did, as accenting or highlighting. When I have tried to cover an entire piece, it can be overwhelming. A small vase or lamp base, OK, but nothing too large. I have used this product since the 80's or before.
Your buffet/console looks absolutely beautiful.
