why neutral rocks!

Why?? Because the possibilities are endless.
You can completely change the look of your room with a few accessories.
You're all familiar with the Ikea Ektorp, right?
A basic, machine washable, slip covered sofa, for $399!
It is the main piece of furniture in all of these rooms, and they couldn't be more different.

All of these make me pine for a summer slipcover for my leather couch!

It is interesting how different the same piece of furniture looks in each room setting.
I had to smile at the one with the dogs, that would be ours, except it wouldn't be looking that pristine for long!
Have a great weekend.

So crazy that you posted about this topic because I have been in the market for a white slipcovered sofa that I can bleach and I think I've read every review about every couch known to mankind - and it's really amazing the positive reviews the extraordinarily inexpensive Ikea one gets! For $399???!!! Crazy I tell ya. My husband isn't sold on buying a sofa there, but after seeing these beautiful photos I bet he'll change his mind!

Happy weekend lovely!

Beautiful! I love this white couch and had no idea it was so inexpensive. I wish I could have one, but being a 12 paw household I don't dare. LOL!

They are all pretty fabulous - I love that you can make the look yours so easily. The last few projects I've been working on I feel like I've been adding white bedding or a white slipcovered chair/sofa - because I know it will work anywhere. Some people are extremely anti (including my hubby unfortunately), so I guess I'll have to wait for my white sofa until the kids are older (insert sad face). Have a great weekend Pam!

These are great pictures Pam! I have always had a house full of animals, kids and family that brings everything outside inside, and I have always had a white couch in my home. I love the versatility! And oxyclean got red wine spills out of my white sofa! Have a great weekend!

I am so depressed. Why did I spend 2,200 for mine? Just think of all the throw pillows I could have bought:)

That really is crazy how each room looks so different but they all have the same sofa. My hub is anti white slipcovers :( so we have leather but I'd love to have my own pretty sitting room one day with a little slipcovered loveseat just for me!

The dogs are so cute and ALL the more reason for slip covers!! It's amazing how much you can change the look of furniture with the right slip cover. So practical too!

Have a great weekend.

I think my next sofa purchase will be one of those. I see them everywhere so they must be comfy, but of course, I would have to try it out first.

I am so with you on that neutral base thing. And thanks for the fabulous inspiration! I need to follow a few links and pin for my family room. I have grand plans to make a neutral slipcover for the sectional in there ...

... I'm thinking there may be a lot of stitch pulling -- and hair pulling -- with that project!

:)

Linda

And thank you for your very sweet comments on my guest post at Cassie's yesterday! Greatly appreciated!

This is exactly why I bought a erktorp love seat in the "as is" section! It had been a floor model and the slip cover needed washing, I felt like I had hit the "mother load" and only paid $249!!! Great post, sometimes I think mine looks too country but u just changed my mind, thanks!

Hi Anonymous - there are several reviews online if you Google it, I've always heard only great things about them. Here is a good site with a lot of reviews. Good luck! http://www.thetinytwig.com/2011/11/10/the-truth-about-the-white-ikea-ektorp-sectional/
