You may have guessed by my photo on the sidebar I'm a big dog lover.
I'm thinking we need to add a portrait to our decor...

Rio has one of the sweetest faces I've seen. I would definitely add her portrait to any wall!

Oh yes you should. With so many great examples it would be hard to pick a style. Go for it.

My sister has tons of dog art...I think it has personality!

I really like the ones where the dogs are posing next to their portraits. They look very proud!

We bet you can guess our answer! Gwyneth and I love ours and would be happy to send you the information for the sweet-and-talented-as-can-be artist who painted it!

I want to have it framed just like the last BHG photo you posted! (And maybe put a museum light on top to be funny)

xoxo,
Meredith & Gwyneth

from one dog lover to another, i say you NEED some dog art. i made a dog canvas silhouette for each of our pups a couple of months ago, http://www.thespacebetweenblog.net/2012/02/09/diy-canvas-silhouettes/. I love that oversized silhouette you feature in your post!

:) I am not a huge animal lover - no animals in my house please! But I think if you ARE an animal lover and you have a family pet these are really cute fun ideas. I love the sillhouettes above the bed that include the family dog. I think it's cute when the dog is included in family portraits or has his own portrait spot on the wall:) You really need to do this!

Yes we have two dog portraits done by Stephens brother- they are incredible and some of my favorite art in our house!

I LOVE pet portraits….I might be biased because a friend of mine paints them and they are just so fun and whimsical! You definitely need one :)

AHHH - its about time someone dedicated a post to this. I want my pup, Wilma, all over my house. My hubs and I wanted a portrait of her over our dining room area and knew everyone would laugh at us. I think I'm gonna work on this...

From one dog lover to another.. YES to all of these and I really like the series of silhouettes with the dog in the middle. They really do become one of the kids don't they? :)

I know you are NOT a crazy dog lady. You are just a lady who loves dogs and although I don't have one, I love dog portraits. Go for it!

I drew a pet portrait for a friend of their 2 boxers- I'll email you a picture of it. Perhaps I can do one for you?
It is a great idea. I love that 3rd painting, and the Jack Russells and the circular Great Dane. I wish I had done one of my golden before he left us.
Never too late I guess! I say do it!

A fan of the photos...not so much the real thing! I love the IDEA of having the dog, but every visit to my sister's with her drooling, smelly great dane gives me a dose of reality! Harsh, but true. :) Beautiful interior shots, loving that cane-backed love seat.

I think it's a great idea. We have a white Lab, Maggie and I think it's time for a portrait of her too! Thanks for sharing.

My boss came in this morning as I was about to comment - so I would have stopped by a lot sooner if it weren't for that ;) And I was going to say how much I loved the cameo art that includes the pup - I think it's an adorable way to include your furry family member into the decor. And so many interesting ways to do it these days too.

I have a colored pencil/ink portrait of our Red Lab Addy! I ordered it
from Two Dog Studio. She does beautiful work and her animals look so
life like. I Love that Addy is the center piece of our Family Room! Oh, and
the center piece of our lives!!

Loved this post. I'm a crazy dog lady, too, and have a ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, so I love the last photo.

Such great inspiration photos! I am so glad I can finally rejoin the crazy dog lady club. We got a new peekapoo pup on Monday, and she's such a doll. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I AM a fan of dogs & dog art too. I just bought a print of my King Charles Cavalier & I've been framing it. I think it's gonna be fun & whimsical. I love these great photos you've posted.

Warmly, Michelle
