decked out...

...and ready for summer!

Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. Ours was packed... a soccer tournament,
a fun birthday get-together with neighbors, a visit to my parents, dinner out
at our favorite new restaurant, (Tellers in Applewood), and yard work!

Today I'm sharing some updates to our deck and patio for the season.

front flagstone patio
the easy monogram pillow done with a sharpie
around to the back deck, the settee from the garage sale,
I finished the new cushions over the weekend, yay!
the other side of the deck, our dining table, I made the black and white pillows last
year, the fabric is indoor/outdoor, we leave them out in the hot sun and weather all
summer. They've held up really well. I coordinated them with the front patio, the
hammock and now the settee to keep it all cohesive.
and tucked in the corner my favorite new potting bench, after it's facelift

BEFORE

Two of our favorite traditions for kicking off summer
turning on our fountain...
 and putting up our hammock

We're ready! Bring on the BBQs!

Gorgeous patio and the pillows look great. I love a good hammock - you are fortunate to have one- it looks perfect. I hope you get to enjoy it, Pam!

How beautiful Pam! I really mean this that your front and back patio is exactly what I would love for our next home. A few places to relax, have dinner, coffee, and just enjoy life. You've done such a great job. I love the cushions you added with that great green fabric, and I also really love that magazine rack too next to your bench - that's really cool. Hope you had a great one - sounds like you did!

Hi Pam,
All your outdoor spaces are so pretty! Love the first shot with the tulips, bell flowers, black umbrella and shutters. The potting bench is great, love the color.

FYI-Your style of home is called Western Reserve style where I live. Our county in Northeast Ohio was settled by settlers from Connecticut. They brought their New England architecture style with them, they are all over our area.

Here is an example of a newer one: http://www.movoto.com/oh/1300-county-line-rd-gates-mills/831_3310046.htm .

Here is a local church in the style:

Here is an old one:

Thought you might enjoy the info.

Fun to see gardens up close and personal. Thanks for sharing!

Ah. looks lovely! I'd like to come laze in that hammock! We have a spot we are working on that will have some sort of fountain. Probably not going to happen this year either though:( Too many projects. Oh well there is always next year!

Your deck and patio are so pretty and inviting. I love that little potting bench. I do a lot of decorating with yard sale and thrift store finds also. I'd say I'm being green and recycling, but I just love the thrill of the hunt (plus I'm cheap).
