goodwill inspiration guide...

The other day a friend left this catalog in my mailbox with a note...
'This doesn't bode well for us Goodwill girls.'

Nope, it sure doesn't!
Looks like Goodwill is stepping it up in their marketing approach with their
 Spring 2013 Inspiration Guide.

DIY Inspiration and how to...

A preview of likely merchandise...

Announcement of sales and coupons...

And, a new membership program offering 20% off with purchases over $25,
and gift certificates after accumulation the required amount of points.

Makes me wonder if higher prices are on the horizon?
Based on a items I saw a few days ago, I'd say they're still good...

Target's Threshold Round Captain's Mirror $9.99
currently available at Target for $29.99

From that to this...

Target's Threshold Wood Lamp Base $14.99
similar available at Target for $54.99

An assortment of colorful vases arranged by color....

Easy to recreate these looks...

This basket was cool, maybe I'll go back and grab it for my client.
$7 - BIG and heavy, great to put on the floor for books, throws, towels, logs in the winter!
I may have talked myself into it...

Like my stylish friend Kate...

Loads of Target paper goods... about half of the price in the store...

Some great lamps, a Murray Feiss, may go back for that!
When I go in I make a 'quick' trip through and try to focus on what I need! Ha!

I've had a few emails about which Goodwill locations I like.
I go to the Wadsworth and Mississippi store, or
Littleton at Simms and Belleview, or Glendale at Leetsdale and Forest.

Happy weekend, friends!

I love Goodwill too! It definitely looks like they are stepping it up, hopefully like you said it won't mean higher prices although I've already started seeing that at a lot of our stores. I like the idea of the membership with coupons though! And that mirror, what a great deal!

Such great finds, Pam. What a smart move on Goodwill's part but I hope the secret doesn't spread too much. Still can't believe I had never been to Goodwill until I met you!

My post today are Goodwill finds too and the prices have already gone up. The store is always packed. The advertising is good for them but bad for us. Have a great weekend.

Hmmm, I wonder if that will be nation wide for GW. Hope that basket is still there. I love it.

Man alive, your Goodwill has much better stuff than mine! But I keep trying and definitely find an occasional goodie!

The higher prices have already happened here. I don't find any of the "deals" that I used to. We can blame ourselves :-/ we have blogged and bragged so much, we made it popular.

Good for Goodwill for stepping up the marketing with the catalog!!! I think people in my area are still warming up to the idea of thrifting and shopping at Goodwill. I am constantly discussing the pros of thrifted "real" furniture vs. the particle board stuff to be found in furniture stores. That metal basket you found is so cool!!

wow! I always wonder when I'm in thrift shops if the people pricing are secretly thinking "someone could use this for _____" and hike up the price. Sounds like goodwill is on to us!

They need to hire you to style their marketing materials!

We don't have one near us .. it's been a long time since I've been in a GW. I can't believe how it's changed! That wire basket is neat. I bought one at RH for a lot more than that!!

Have a nice weekend Pam!

Wow, what a nice Goodwill you have. Nothing like that in our little GW store. I have noticed that the prices have been going up in all the thrift stores that I have been in.

Mine is still lacking ... I pop in every now and then. I have never seen the Target stuff here ... hmmm ... I guess it is good for them??? Happy Friday! xo

Mine has a lot of Target stuff as well but that's not what I go for! I don't like it as much as I used too, the prices are getting too high for me! I like Salvation Army and Value Village.

I'm afraid that the thrift stores are catching on - they are figuring out what is cool and we are seeing the prices go up around here. bummer.

No Goodwill near me but a huge one is about 45 min drive that I have never been to. I think DIY bloggers have had a big influence from the looks of the mailer. You could give shopping tours when you go to Goodwill! I love the metal basket you found.

I am intrigued by your blog today. A GOODWILL CATALOGUE? In western Canada the prices have gone up by about 100%. Who told me this would happen? But, why not? In Vancouver, people part their BMW or Mercedes out front and shop just like any of other folk, not so well off. At least Goodwill has some good business sense. There will always be places where the very needy can shop. I just hope that their doors will NOT open to those-not-so-needy.

Oh I how miss the Goodwill stores in the greater Denver area. The store in our area isn't all that great so we make a trip down to Indy periodically to do a Goodwill run. I do know that the quality of the "merchandise" is dependent upon what is donated at that particular store. The catalogue is a regional phenomenon... however we have had a rewards card in our area for the past 2 years. We receive a certain amount off for purchases over $25 and $5 off a $20 purchase for you birthday is you use the reward card.

Have fun!

Can't believe GW has a magazine out now! We'll see what happens...As for your GW hunting, looks like you have lots of great stuff to choose from. I never find good things at mine.

wow they are stepping up their game. Our goodwill isn't that great. I rarely if ever find anything there, but your posts make me keep checking! Thanks for the tips, as always. I know I'll get lucky one day when I least expect it.
Hope you had a great weekend.

Not sure how I missed this post.... That magazine definitely proves that presentation is everything! I dropped in our GW over the weekend and it seemed like the prices were really inflated on some items. I can't believe you have such good Target items at yours!

Didn't know GW had a magazine. Your local GW has some great stuff! The $10 Captain mirror is fab!
