One of my favorite looks is layering mirrors and art,
and if an ornate gold frame is included, all the better in my book.
As I was putting my mantel back together after the holidays I was stuck in my same
familiar decorating rut...gold mirror, layered sunburst mirror, art, and a vase filled
with something from nature for texture.
I thought I'd check out Pinterest for some fresh ideas for layering.
I guess I know what I like...these were some of my favorites...no surprises here!

OHHH Love that mantel by Elegantly Untamed. I'm in the same mindset, didn't want to put my mantel back the way it was, so I restyled it, and still not thrilled. Hope you had fun skiing!

I am staring at my empty mantel at the moment trying to come up with some ideas after the Christmas decor has disappeared. I love all the layered looks you posted but ever since I put up that round mirror, I have had trouble...such dilemmas! I hope you guys had a fun ski trip!

I love the look of layering! These are all gorgeous photos.
Great ideas! I like the photo with the natural wood lamp, cloche, and candlesticks. I just bought a great wood bowl similar to that at the thrift store, and have a similar lamp also. Hmmm, I see a new arrangement in my future!
What?!!! Not even a sneak peek of the green paint? You're plain mean. ;)
These are such fabulous inspiration photos. I am walking around my house right now trying to figure out how I can manipulate what I already have!
Beautiful photos. I'm excited to layer too! Can't wait to see what you have in the works.
I need an emerald paint sneak peek!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the layered look. Lovely inspirations!
I love that look too. I can't wait to see your emerald piece!
I love this look! It has an effortless, inviting feel. I'm excited to see the project you're working on!
If it isn't broken don't fix it, right? I love your mantel look and the inspiration you posted too. Waiting for a peek at the emerald paint. Excited to see your bookcase project too!
I really like the first photo gold frame(no art) with framed art together.
I love to layer!! Gorgeous images! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
I love that lost image from House and Home. I've got a few pieces of art standing layered on our bookshelf in our living room that need to be hung up. But I've enjoyed having them layered on the bookshelf and easily moveable whenever I feel the need to rearrange.
I love this look, and then when I try it...it feels strange. Why is that?
Pam, how did you know that I was working on styling my new entryway today and needed a little inspiration?!? This post could not have had more perfect timing! I love my new entryway thanks to the images you curated! Thank you!

I hope you stop and join mine too!!
cheers :)
I like a layered look too - you can probably tell that with some of my decor. sometimes I go a bit overboard with it so I'm not sure I've really learned the 'art' of it but I just go with it!
I can't wait to see the emereld paint!! You are so quick, I'm jealous!
Beautiful examples of layering...can't wait to get all the Christmas things put away and start moving things about...great ideas Pam!!
This is a beautiful post, Pam! I love every example of layering.
