...remember my Craigslist chairs for the dining room?
With the holidays fast approaching they finally made it to the top of my to-do list.
Although, I'll only be using the four side chairs along with two different upholstered chairs,
I decided to go ahead and refinish the arm chairs as well, since we can always use the extra seating. I'll just store them in the basement.
Good news...
Today I got them all sanded, cleaned up, and a coat of paint on four of them.
Bad news...
They need 3 coats each, so I only have 14 more to go!
And, the seats to reupholster.
And, tomorrow is my volunteer day at school, so it's not looking
like I'll be showing them to you until sometime next week.
Here's a sneak peek at the color for you, staying true to my neutral ways.
I may surprise you with a punch of color on the seats though!
Do you have any projects you're hoping to finish before the holidays?

Oh - gorgeousness! I love your vision for making over furniture, Pam. These chairs had such pretty bones - I can't wait to see the afters!!!
Those are going to be beautiful! Can't wait to see the fabric choice as well. I need to go catch up on your blog, I took a break for the summer but school is in session and I"m back! :)
Just found you from Powell Browner Home! Love your CL chairs and looking forward to seeing what you do with them! Holidays!! Agghhh ... i am feeling like the starting gun just went off!! xo
I always resort to neutrals too but I think it's just fine! Can't wait to see what you decide with the fabric!
Those are great chairs - I love the backs of them. I just got word that my favorite vintage shop (Phantastic Phinds that I feel like I mention all the time) is going to be stocking Annie Sloan chalk paint - woo hoo! So the beast of a dresser in our master might finally get painted. I'm off today to find some new lamps.
Pam, these are gorgeous!!! I love the color. You mentioned the word HOLIDAY? Yikes, I can't even think about that. I have a million projects I want to do, but can't seem to get over the fact its Labor Day. Good luck with the chair project. With your superb taste they are going to be fabulous.

I love these chairs- that design on the back is so great! I know they will be well worth it 14 coats later :) As for my list- I think we are hiring someone to paint our hallways, kitchen and living room and I am jumping up and down with excitement! yay!
that is a heck of a lot of work and i do not envy you there, BUT they are going to be so beautiful!!!
I hadn't even THOUGHT the word 'holidays' yet! I've been so busy and have so much to think about I even totally forgot that today is my 15th anniversary till my Mom text me Happy Anniversary. Sigh. #busymuch?
I love the lines of those chairs and can't wait to see what fabric you end up with. You are the Queen of Fabrics!
Pam,
I love how they look. I cant tell if they are white washed with stain or paint. what did you use?

The chairs are beautiful! I say you need a sprayer for those lovelies. It would save ALOT of time. I bought one for $80 and it works like a charm! Can't wait to see them with their new fabric
The idea for designing these chairs is brilliant, I think these are going to become very beautiful chairs.

We may have to wait a little bit for the chair reveal, but you gave us an idea in this post in true "Simple Details" form. Love how you used soup cans to elevate the chair while you're working on it! Seriously! Will come in so handy for us, considering our kitchen, dining room and work room are all one and the same! Thank you!
Have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo,
mk & Gwynnie
