Rain or shine I always have something for you,
but life got in the way and blogging took a backseat yesterday.
Our weekend was jam packed and when we finally arrived home
at 10pm on Sunday I was done for the day.
We didn't even have time to take care of plumbing issues,
so this was first on our schedule for Monday morning...
It wasn't nearly as pretty as this photo makes it out to be!
A few snippets from the weekend birthday celebration...
A quick centerpiece from flowers in my parent's yard.
Japanese Anemone (pink), Purple Hyacinth Bean (plum pods),
Branches from Japanese Maple
I'm going to steal some some seeds from this Purple Hyacinth Bean,
I've read they're easy to grow if planted in the spring, I love those pretty pods.
One of the desserts...
My parents and nephew, a gift photo book brings back memories...
Part of our gang checking out the book,
and watching the game...
Rio's cousin, Timber...cracks us up...
Life is good...

Steal some seeds for me too ~ it's beautiful! How fun to spend time celebrating with family. Sorry about the plumbing issues. We were faced with an indoor pool last week ... ugh!
Have a great day~

Making memories are the priorities in life...I reminded myself of that this weekend....as I was thinking about how far behind I am with fall decorating, but witnessing my granddaughter catching her first fish and the joy it brought to her and me...then the thoughts of Fall decor went away very quickly!!...Glad you had a great weekend.
Hate plumbing issues. Hope it went fast and as inexpensive as possible. That cake looks sooo temping. What a nice family gathering.
Looked for you a few times yesterday...glad to know all is OK. Hope the plumber was just doing regular maintenance and not fixing something big!
Oh no, I hate that! You did make it a pretty picture though ;) At least you enjoyed a fabulous weekend with loved ones- that dessert looks divine!
What a wonderful celebration! Those are the memories that enhance our lives. This weekend family is gathering for my nephews wedding so I hope to soak up all those moments like you did. Sorry about the plumbing probe! always something, isn't it? Have a great day.

aww how nice does that look? sounds like you all had a wonderful time! does one of your family members own Rio's cousin? If so, HOW COOL!?
I'm so proud of you for taking the day off and glad to see you had a great weekend. Sewer problems are never fun - we have some neighborhood sewer issues going on and unfortunately they are not disappearing anytime soon. Everything is fine w/ our house but apparently all 6 of our houses are on the same line and yadda yadda yadda...not fun and may be $$. Anyway, looks like a great family weekend - those are always so good.
Ugh on the plumbing problems but glad you took a break (glad for you, not for us!:} ) Those flowers are wildly beautiful and looks like you had a fun celebration with your family. That strawberry cake wouldn't have lasted long around here!
Looks like a wonderful weekend (minus the sewer issues!)
Your dad looks touched by the book - it must have been a big hit.
The flowers are so lovely!! And yes - life is good - I love how you appreciate it!
looks like a fun weekend, despite plumbing to deal with. tht is NEVER fun! and i think i love timber. oh my lord!
Oh my goodness, Pam, only you could make a picture of a sewer truck look pretty! That's some serious talent, my friend. You should of offered them your picture for an exchange of services!
That dessert looks amazing - I wish I had that sitting here right now!
Sorry about the plumbing issue..... never any fun.... especially on a Monday!!! Luckily, it looks like you had a wonderful weekend!
What a sweet family. Your dad looks truly touched. The cake, flowers, and your parents' home are all so pretty.
So sorry about the sewer problems...not fun! It looks like you had a great family get together. the cake look amazing!
Wonderful family picture treasures! You captured everyone's essence!
Now, the picture of the plumber's truck...Priceless!
The gift photo book sounds wonderful. I love the flower arrangement.
That looks like a really nice weekend, with the exception of the plumbing issues
Life is good - especially when I'm visiting your blog. I wrote about you today in a post about my favorite blogs. I’d love it if you popped by to check it out. It was such a pleasure to feature your awesome self!
Warmly, Michelle
Thoughts on this post...
1. never seen a sewer truck look that good, they should use your shot for advertising
2. love the hyacinth bean and anemones
3. that cake is my favorite- angel food, whipped cream and strawberries, never thought to present it like that, gorgeous with the shiny humongous ones on top
4. love your Dad's face immersed in the album, treasure the days with him, mine left 10 years ago
5. Rio's cousin is quite talented, Andy cannot balance on his tushy like that!
Those flowers are beautiful! Sorry that you had some plumbing issues - I hate when stuff like that comes up. That cake looks delicious!
