10 odd yet essential elements...mirrors

We're working our way through Deborah Needleman's
10 Odd Yet Essential Elements of Style

up next...Decorative Mirrors

...most rooms, like most lives, can benefit from some extra sparkle. It is a big beautiful object that
can create the kind of drama that grounds a room. A highly functional object if there ever was one.

I've always loved HUGE mirrors, definitely a statement piece!
Try to imagine these rooms without the mirror.

Home Goods is my go-to store for huge mirrors
their large selection and prices can't be beat.

Do you have the perfect spot in need of a little drama?

I love, love, love oversized mirrors. The bigger the better. I've even seen them used amazingly in small rooms. I have a round 48" mirror that I want to put some sort of frame on. Still keeping my eyes open for an idea to frame that baby. I also love over sized paintings or prints mounted onto a large wall of mirror. I love your style.

I second your vote for Home Goods - the best for inexpensive statement mirrors. I believe I have the perfect spot - I've been so wishy washy what to put in this particular spot and I just need to make a decision. I couldn't imagine any of these rooms without the mirror.

I love huge mirrors! The more ornate, Baroque, French or European looking, the better. I always have my eye open for the perfect one-preferably vintage and not insanely expensive! I love these images you pulled together, really gorgeous.

We followed Pam's advice and drywalled over a useless niche in order to accomodate an over-sized mirror. I never would have thought of this. Thanks for your vision and talent, Pam. We could not be happier with all of the work you have done on our home.

Can't get over the oversized white mirror with all of the wood work. Yes, I need more mirrors in my life.

The mirrors really do make a statement in those rooms. Definitely a focal point. Homegoods does have some great ones. I just can't get over how much cheaper they are there than other retail stores!
