The invitations are being delivered today.
It's an intimate get-together with 10 special girlfriends,it started when our kiddos were toddlers,
the oldest of our group just turned 16...boo hoo!
Cocktails, Appetizers,
Gift Exchange & Stealing,
After Dinner Coffees & Dessert
They all politely play along with my rule ~ a 'theme' for the gift exchange and the
anticipation they'll think outside the box, and bring something wildly creative.
They do not disappoint!!
I try to come up with an invitation to introduce our theme...
Pages from an old dictionary were the inspiration for the invite this year.
Since there are 2,408 pages, I didn't think anyone would miss a few.
~ Cut the pages into 2 x 3 inch pieces (16 per invitation)
~ Form them into cones, use a glue gun to secure.
~ Attach 16 cones to a 4 inch circle using your glue gun
~ For a bow cut 2 slits in the center of the circle, thread your ribbon
through to the front and tie. I chose a pale shimmery satin.
~ Print your party details on cardstock and glue below the bow
All set!
What clever gift would you show up with?

Oh what a beautiful invite! So creative. This is clearly coming from someone who doesn't know the group BUT possibly something like a canvas or piece of wood with lyrics to either a holiday or meaningful song to all of you? Can't wait to hear what people come up with!
Wow! You must have creative friends because it'd be easy to be intimidated by your invitations. They're beautiful! Wish I could come!
Beautiful invitations! I would bring the chocolate Scrabble set currently sold at Target and a pretty journal. Have fun!
How darling!!! Sounds like a wonderful party. I would bring the game Bananagrams, my favorite! Have fun and be sure to share the creative gift ideas post party....

I would probably do a journal or a board game, I love Catch Phrase and it's fun for all ages. What a pretty invite - I might try this. Will let you know if I do. What a fun party!!
Wow, I wouldn't have thought of a board game! My brain was thinking along these lines: workout-shirt (just do it), framed quote, notecards with words, pillow w/words, holiday items w/words, conversation cards, handmade cards, books, recipe w/sample, diy banners, magazine subscription...
I am the WORST at deciding on gifts to bring, but i did see a cute gift...it's chocolate wine drink in a wine bottle. i'm actually not clear on if it's a drink or chocolate..but either way..it's cool looking :)
Thought of another one: scrabble coasters! Have you seen the DIY posts on them or on Pinterest?
Love those bookpage invitations! What a fun party, hope you have a great time! I am so bad at thinking up clever gifts, I would probably show up with something vintage.
WOW!!! AHHHHMAAAZZZZING! HAPPY TO FOLLOW, SO I AM SURE NOT TO MISS THE LITTLE DETAILS! STOP BY WHEN YOU HAVE A MINUTE!
