Within five minutes of dropping off 'detail boy' at soccer practice I'm
hiking in the beautiful, peaceful foothills of Colorado.
Fortunate, I know!
Twice a week for an hour and a half this is my favorite spot to exercise.
(The consistent piece of advice from seasoned bloggers is to be authentic, so...)
I would never in a million years relax on this bridge or stop and gaze
at the deer and elk that share the surroundings.
I'm just not a stop and smell the roses type.
Nope, I rock and roll up that mountain as fast as I can,
sweating, pushing myself to beat last week's time, loving every minute
and being thankful for the beauty I enjoy!
As the path fades behind me I'm greeted by dusk, the city lights of Denver
and the realization my evenings hiking are about over for the year,
as the days have grown too short.
Enjoy the weekend friends.... in whatever way brings you joy!

Breathtaking. So great that you realize that you are fortunate.
Sounds like a good exercis plan to me - beautiful setting. Colorado is on my list of places to go - I've always heard such great things. You've got a lot to enjoy out there. I push my daughter in her stroller for exercise right now since she's 25 lbs plus I figure that's a pretty good workout for the time being.
I want to be there! We traveled to Colorado twice this year and both times I left saying, "I was born in the wrong place." I LOVE it!
What a beautiful picture for all of us to imagine but I would definitely be the one to stop on that bridge and enjoy some zen! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful photos and gorgeous scenery!Have a lovely weekend:)

Oh, that's why you're so fit! What would I do during soccer practice? Probably head to Home Goods! Just doesn't seem to wear off the same calories!
Looks amazing! That is one thing I love about living in utah. Access to hiking in the mountains.
wow! what a beautiful view! We dont have anything like that here in TX :-(
I cannot begin to tell you how jealous I am right now. Denver is one of my favorite spots. I have hiked through the foothills multiple times and miss hiking and biking around the area. You are so lucky to have the opportunity to escape to the woods 2 days a week. Beautiful photos.
It is really awesome place to visit. For hiking, you need to be prepared for the laborious walking. It, sometimes, lead to the leg injuries. You need to be careful. You can use walking stick to have a support while walking.
