party plans, opinion and painting

Here's an update on the dinner party for Saturday,
four couples for a friend's birthday,
planned by my two girlfriends and moi.

This napkin was the inspiration for the table setting.
The other fabric will be a table runner on top of a white tablecloth.
The sprig of fun sparkly beads will be napkin rings
(Found in the floral section at Hobby Lobby)

We're planning pink flowers and a large collection of crystal candlesticks
with white candles.

Here's where you guys can weigh in with your opinion!

The plates will be on gold chargers.
Green plates...?

Or white plates...?

(Imagine prettier white plates, these are just my everyday.)

Next, the pattern for the other napkins
keep in mind the runner, napkin rings and plates.

Progress!!

I wanted you to see a dramatic vertical shot showing I was up there 10' high,
but with mr. simple you get one shot, and it's always horizontal!

Ahh, the simple life!

It all looks beautiful. I am torn between the two plate choices. I like the green but then choosing the second fabric is hard too. I'm sure whatever you pick will be gorgeous! Maybe green plates with the 3rd fabric? Or maybe white plates with the first fabric? Ok, this hurts my head and I'm a visual person so I would have to see it all together and switch it around 76 times first. :) Nice paint job! Are you tired of painting? I always get excited to paint and then about 2/3 of the way through I am ready to be done.

Be eclectic and do one of everything! Just kidding. Green plates, navy napkins is my vote, but it's hard not seeing it next to each other. It's all pretty. I'm envious of your fabric selections. The stores down here aren't that fabulous.

Green plates, navy napkins. You ladies are good - can't wait to see. Take lots of photos - sounds like such a nice dinner you're planning too. You're working hard at that painting - oh Mr. Simple, snap 5 or 6 for us :) My husband does the same thing.

hmm I would probably go with white plates, you cannot go wrong with them...and let the napkins and table runner be the star of the show! I like option #1 and #3 the best. And, I love the horizontal shot...I asked Stephen to do the same for me in the dining room a few weeks ago, and I was like "what was that??" you can't even see the room :)

Jumping on the green plates navy napkins bandwagon, what a FUN table this is going to be!
Oh those horizontal shots....don't they understand?!!! Girl, that is a BIG painting project!

I vote for white plates and #1 for the simple reason that (perhaps) you might have some green with your pink flowers and I like the green as an accent here. Also I like another pattern but #3 takes away from your initial inspiration whereas #1 enhances it and contrasts nicely. Not sure about #2. How are you able to sit up there? You seem to be quite comfortable in that spot :)

Ha ha! I've never felt older than when I have to contort my body into some strange position to reach those tall corners! At least you look cute doing it! I vote for the green plates and the blue dot napkins. Lots of spring color!

Look at you way up there - a girl after my own heart!!! I would come help you if I could :)
So many pretty options for your table!!! Ugh -so hard to decide. I think you need to have two dinner parties so you can try all these combinations!
I like the green plate and the green & white fabric for contrasting napkins.
How fun to plan this with your friends!! So much fun.

Such pretty fabrics. I love the green plates, especially with the orange runner. It's a good thing you're so tiny and can fit in those little spots! It all looks amazing.

I vote for the green plates (though I think it also depends on the color food you're serving- white can really set something off) and the pink!

I actually really like the white plates and the green #3 fabric. But the whole scheme is beautiful. I also really like the idea of using sparkly beads as napkin rings. Super creative!

I would do green plates with #3 or white plates with #1.

I love the green plates and the solid pink for extra napkins. Also love the napkin ring idea and would like to know if you are using the full pick for 1 napkin ring or are you cutting it? Can't wait to see pics of the party....I love tablescapes!
