easter inspiration

Look what I found under my guest bed...

It's a Chinese Rose Mandarin pattern charger, I've had it for years.
It's huge, 25" in diameter.
Mr. Simple and I got it at an auction when life was...different, two incomes, no kiddo.

Now we spend our $$ on things like out-of-town soccer tournaments, fees, uniforms
soccer cleats, tennis lessons, racquets, tennis shoes, ski equipment,
 shoes, shoes, shoes,
educational vacations to Washington, DC,
food, food, food, food, food and more shoes!

I wouldn't change it for all the chargers in China!

You can see a glimpse of the gold on the top edge.

I'm thinking it would make a fun statement
filled with dyed Easter eggs!

Also, thank you all SO much for the sweet comments about my mantel and bookcase,
you all inspire me more than you know!

Wow! You've got good stuff lurking under your beds! All of the bold colors are so engaging. I think we're about to enter that shoe phase also, we had to move up to Men's sizes this year...painful!

And to think I only find dust bunnies under my beds! You know how much I love this one, everything Chinese is special in my book!

Pam, I love this post - how life changes as your kids grow!

What a beautiful piece - it would be really fun to use it seasonally and enjoy it.

Lots of fun colors in that charger you could play around with. Do you follow Lisa at A Room with a View? She had a similar piece that was really pretty that she did a post about not too long ago.

What else is lurking under your beds?! I can't wait to see how you style it for Easter. Positive it'll be gorgeous. And, those shoes...bought 3 pair this weekend and not a single pair for myself. Kids!

Yes, priorities certainly change with kids.... but it's the best money spent in my opinion! :) Can't wait for you to work your magic with this!

Hope you are putting that charger and it's lovely pink peonies in your LR. Once it's in there you can fill it with Easter eggs or whatever you want, but it seems perfect! And to think it was under your bed! And I can so relate to how $$ is spent, our grocery bills have dropped sharply due to one less teen to feed at the moment!

I hear you on how the money gets spent with kiddos around!! I don't have boys but i have a friend who has 3 - and she is constantly buying shoes or cleats or something for sports! and even with girls I'm needing to head out this week for new jeans for the middle one. girls wear holes in their jeans too!!
That charger is lovely - how fun to 'find' it under the guest bed:) and I agree it would look lovely filled with Easter eggs

Don't you love shopping in your own house? I love it! That is a beautiful charger. Funny you say you spend your money on food, food, food because when I look at my bank statement thats all I see!! :)

Nothing but dust bunnies under my guest bed, but I hear you on the tournament fees and equipment - there's nothing like hearing, "Mom, I need a new head(because the $130 2 week old one you just bought broke.)" Love that charger! So pretty! Thanks for sharing.
