reader's house tour...

I have a huge treat for you today!
A couple of weeks ago I received the sweetest email from one of my readers, we were
chatting about my hutch and she showed me a photo of her dining room, it was gorgeous!
It was so stylish, and well put together and I got a little peak into the kitchen, intuition told me
there had to be more fabulous rooms, so of course I asked, and she kindly sent photos.
My jaw dropped as I scrolled through them.
She was so kind to allow me to share them with all of you...enjoy!

She wrote:

I have lived in this home for a little over a year. It is a home which has many other homes with similar floorplans in our neighborhood. Keeping resale in mind, my husband and I tried to put as many custom touches in this house as we could think of ( who are we kidding,,, I mean " afford" lol) I did my best to make sure that every room had something unique about it. One thing I love is that the home is 100% hardwood, except the wet areas. I also tried to do neat things with all the ceilings. Most rooms have beadboard, or coffered, or beamed ceilings.

She had her builder make the doors from a picture she tore out of a magazine.

I think she did an incredible job creating a stunning home filled with character!

Also, she said she would love to start a blog, but isn't technical enough.
I'm proof that it's not necessary and I'm sure I'm not the only one, right?

Jaw dropping for sure! That guest room, the landing, THE PATIO...all fabulous! She knocked it out of the park! Thanks for sharing this one with us.

Love her attention to detail! "Not technical enough" seems to be the top reason for not starting a blog. If only people knew how easy it is (well, most of the time. ha!) Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous rooms, although only half the pictures loaded for some reason.
I just started my own blog and while it's a work in progress, YES, she can do it. Blogspot makes it pretty easy.
(Mine is Sixtyxsixty.blogspot.com and is all of two weeks old. She can see how easy it is to get that far in a short period of time...)

How lovely, especially the custom touches like the barn doors and stair railing. The decorating is pretty awesome as well!!! She should totally start a blog....!

Love the stair railing and her fearless use of black in decorating her charming home. Please know that if I can blog, anyone can blog! Go for it, easier than you might imagine. The most important thing to know about blogging is proper light for interior photography. Pam, you are an expert on this and can give her(and all of us) advice!

I do wish she would start a blog so I can stalk her style! I have alot of dark touches in my home- dark brown/black uba tuba granite in the kitchen with maple cabinetry, dark brown black wall unit in the adjoining family room. I like how she has the drama of the dark pieces, yet her home looks light and lovely- just what I need too! Comfortabley casual, yet elegant! Wowsa!

All of my pictures laded. Absolutely beautiful! Could you please get some info on those rugs! Did she make (handwritten script) or purchase? What an awesome DIY it could be! Drop cloth with padding underneath, favorite quotes or scriptures painted on top! I also would love to know where those white comforters came from. Thanks so much for sharing!!

A treat indeed, Pam. What a stunningly beautiful home. I like absolutely everything about it, and I confess, I will be copying a few things. Well they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
The destinations for the number 27 bus on the patio are all areas I have worked in, lol.
