ikea ektorp sectional...

Hey everyone, did you all savor your extra hour yesterday?
I wonder if we took a poll (speaking of polls, have you had enough already?) which would win
sleeping in vs. getting up and being productive?

I slept in, which isn't like me, I'm usually an early riser.

We have exciting news (more exciting for some than others), at our house.
A new Ikea Ektorp Sectional for our family room. We've needed more seating
in there and its size (95 x 95), price ($800), washable slipcover, neutral color and
great reviews won me over.
Our old sofa, although great quality, wasn't my favorite with the large rolled arms,
it sold on Craigslist the first day for full price $300. TIP: Style a nice photo!

Here it is, the plan is to warm it up a bit for winter...anyone remember my post last
week, 'making white look cozy?' here,  now you know why that was on my mind.

I can't wait to add some cozy texture to it...I have a diy in the works.
We've only had it for a week, and I haven't sat down yet on it...but will give you a review soon!

Stop by tomorrow for my controversial Election Day Post!

Looks great Pam! Don't know how you've resisted laying down for a nap there! :)

Another great Ikea piece! Looks perfect in your space. I have read about this sofa for years. Joni Webb of Cote de Texas always recommends it.

We made the journey to Ikea last week before the storm hit and came home with several linen duvets and boutis style coverlets and shams for two of our guest rooms, the former bedrooms of our adult children. All are soft, nice quality and amazing price. I resisted ironing the linen duvets after washing, have the European wrinkled casual look which is a fun change.

I just bought this sofa too. We put it together yesterday, and I'm sitting on it now. I LOVE it! I tried writing a post about it this morning, but my computer is acting funky and won't let me upload any photos. Enjoy!

I think being able to fall asleep earlier and sleep in an extra hour this morning was the best part of the time change!

I, too, got into pillows this weekend and covered some with a fabulous vintage inspired fabric! It the perfect Sunday Project!

I love it!!! Looks so great with your styling. You make me want to take a picture of my green couch and list it on Craigslist this instant! Can't beat the price of the Ektorp, and that white slipcover gives you endless opportunity to change up your room on a whim!

Well aren't you a sneaky one? Perfect choice for your living room...but you MUST sit down on it and read a good book-or that Traditional Home!

Love it! I actually have my eye on Ektorp arm chairs for our living room. Just sold our old couch on Craigslist and thought arm chairs might open the space up a bit. Looking forward to your controversial post tomorrow :)

I've thought about getting one of these for our basement b/c I figured it could transition well into our next home - living room or basement as well. You can't beat the price. And I love your pillows you've added in so far. Ah, election day - sounds like it's going to be a close one.

I love it. I always love white slipcovered furniture and now with Rosie, I think I should have some slipcovers around here! Looking forward to your election post!

I love it, Pam! It looks so beautiful in your home and styled so nicely with your pillows! I have been leaning more towards white sectionals lately. Very practical to be able to wash the cover! No more worries. :)

It's beautiful! I have always loved the Ektorp, but with Ikea being 4 hours away from me it ended up being a less practical option. Too bad because I love the look and price!

Just curious, how comfortable is this sofa? Great price for sure, but how long will it last? Can't wait to hear what y'all say. Hubby and I are on the 'fluffy' side, so... Be honest, you won't hurt our feelings.
Thanks!

Hi Anonymous ~ We think it's comfortable, but more firm than fluffy. Our old sofa had down wrapped cushions and down loose back pillows, giving it a cozier sink in feeling. This one isn't quite as deep and may not be as comfy for a large person. But, I love it, and read a lot of great reviews online. If you have a store nearby you should try it out, I always see people laying all over it in the store. :)
