12th annual party...

One of my favorite traditions of the holiday season is hosting an annual party
for ten special girlfriends. Most of us met when our kiddos started  pre-school,
and it began as an ornament exchange, but after soooo many ornaments I got creative and
we've had different themes for the past several years. They always included stealing each
other's gifts, but I changed it up this this year.
These girls' gifts are clever, creative and classy ~ I can't wait to see what they come up with!

Delivering fun invitations announcing the theme is tradition...

A Few of my Favorite Things

I printed the lyrics to the song on brown craft paper to use as gift wrap.
brown paper packages tied up with string...

Enclosed the invitation in a box...
This year each person brings five of the same 'favorite things,' when they arrive
they draw five names, those will be the recipients of their gifts.
Everyone goes home with five small 'favorite' gifts.

They've already asked me if I was going to share this and ask you all for ideas,
so what would you bring?
Each favorite item should be $5 or less.

The party is next Tuesday, more details to follow.

If you missed last year's party you can check it out here and here,
 and the do-ahead appetizers here.

Cute idea! My favorite thing would be the wristlet key chains I have been giving lately, made by Abby Frey on Etsy. They are pretty, practical and priced at $5.

Oh what fun! I love your wrapping paper with lyrics- so creative. Oprah should have thought of that. My favorite thing under $5 is not at all unique- Starbucks on a cold day.

Love the packaging Pam! It's so pretty! I've done cookie exchanges with girlfriends before but I like this idea much better! Might have to do my own:)

My favorite thing would be Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Raisin.

You are so very creative, Pam! I love that you printed the words on the paper!! What a great idea for a holiday gift swap!!
And I second Luci - I love Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers and gave them to the school secretaries last year! Also…close to $5….Essie nail polish…small hand cream for your bag….paperwhite bulbs….chalkboard painted coasters and chalk….cozy/funny winter socks….my favorite find for my girlfriends last year at TJMaxx were hot pink barkeepers books of drink recipes with fun quotes about friends sprinkled throughout!
Have so much fun planning :)

What a fun party and I always love your creative invites. A friend of mine did a favorite things party a few times and it was so much fun. Although we each brought one thing and then chose numbers out of a hat for the gifts. My favorite item under $5 is probably the Clif Bar peanut butter pretzel flavor. Have you had it? It's delicious and good for protein. The guy that does my hair also had a WD-40 pen - have you seen those? I think my hubby will be getting one of those as a stocking stuffer this year.

Cute Idea!

In this day and age, though, when we all need LESS in the way of things, I'd ask people to bring packaged food, warm socks, gloves or whathaveyou for the local needy.

I just found out that we have 23 homeless children at our local high school-so hubby and I decided to use our X-mas $ to help out instead of buying each other things we don't really need.

Love Love Love this!! What paper did you use for the wrapping paper? Did you just run it through your printer?

pam {simple details} said...

Hi DCSpalding - Thank you so much! I used brown craft paper, cut to fit in my printer and ran it right through without any problem!
