weekend update...

Ugly door, no more!!

I'm a lucky girl!
Once I started scraping the paint came off of that specific board perfectly,
to think it had been like that for probably a year!
I sanded it a bit, gave the entire door a fresh coat and did a happy dance!

Motivated to get another little project off the list,
I gave this black clock a quick coat of gold paint.
I removed it from the bookcase when I did the update for spring and
the boys couldn't live without it, so this is how it looked... (in real life vs. blog photo)

Better and off the list!

We (actually, mr. simple) sanded and cleaned the deck for a fresh coat of stain.

While I was outside I noticed this terra cotta colored pedestal in need of freshening.
A little navajo white paint thinned with water and a light sanding...

We fit in a trip downtown for dinner on Saturday night,
the Women's Final Four Tournament was here and the 16th Street Mall was hopping!

Tomorrow a new addition to the kitchen...here's a clue, it's big and bold!

Wow, you all were busy beavers! Glad the door was such a simple fix. It's nice when something turns out easier than planned!

You fit more into a weekend than anyone I know! Your door looks great (and the flowers are beautiful). Redoing my deck is on my list. Any tips from you and Mr. Simple? I'm not sure about color, products, and process tips. Looking forward to your something bold!

The door looks all fresh and new. Glad to hear that it wasn't a huge chore. I think the clock looks great on the shelves!

My husband was out doing the same to our deck. It must be a man thing!

Wow - you had a busy weekend! I love that door and now you have me looking at my deck...I think we had it restained last year but there are some questionable areas. Our deck gets full sun all day so it really takes a beating.

I like big and bold additions - and especially when a kitchen is involved. I forgot that the women's tournament was in town near you - busy busy. We had quite the productive weekend as well - little steps in our house are really big (like starting to clean out the basement).

great projects, and what a feeling of accomplishment.. I need to prep and stain my deck, too. It's not that simple since we need to make some repairs first. I wanted to get it done by Easter, but still on the mulching of the property.. Ive put out 7 truckloads so far..phew! Hope your week is grand!

I love the black door! I'm waiting here for some nice (sunny but not windy weather) so I can paint an exterior door black. Seeing yours is making me antsy to just do it!

That door seriously has me eyeing the inside of my front door to paint black. It looks great and isn't it so gratifying to cross things off the to-do list???
