testing, testing, 1, 2, 3

Woo hoo!
Can you believe it, progress on the dining room, by accident!
I brought home the 8 x 10 rug for a test, and I think it passed!
If you need to catch up I gave you the scoop yesterday.

Lovely chairs, I know!
The next BIG decision...do I even like them enough to reupholster them?
I wouldn't mind either 2 head chairs or 4 side chairs, but not 6 of the same.
And, I'm not sure about the curved top.

The rug flattened out nicely for being tightly rolled up, except that one little crinkle on the left,
I think with a weight on it tonight it will be fine.

This photo shows the rug next to a truer read on the paint color.

Progress...to be continued...

My friend and I popped into Lowe's last Friday and happened to see this pretty rug. We feel in love with it, especially given the price. It looks fabulous in your dining room!!

How about two of those chairs on the ends? They sure look comfy. I am having table envy by the way - love the style of yours. Basically I just want to trade houses with you.....kay?

The rug looks great...... I can't believe it is from Home Depot! I'd vote to give the chairs a little mix up too. Love the idea of the two head chairs. Can't wait to see the finished result!

Maybe Home Depot will pay you a commission when there's a run on this rug! It looks great, Pam.

Love the rug. I think it looks great. I don't mind the shape of the chairs, but agree they would look better reupholstered. I love your chandelier as well.

OMG Pam, I love that you said that - that's the million dollar question "do I even like them enough to reupholster them". I feel like that in and of itself deserves a post, because we can all relate!!

LOVE the rug, you are SPOT on with it looking like the inspiration pic!

I think the rug looks great. I really like the shape of the chairs, what do you think you're going to reupholster them with? I definitely would leave the two head chairs and then maybe switch out the others if you're not sure on the shape.

What about trying to keep two on the ends? You may love them more when there aren't 6 of them. Love the rug!

Perfection on the rug! As far as the chairs, love the lines, agree on the quantity and mixing things up a bit. How you do that depends on the other chair that may be used and the fabric you choose for the existing chairs. I see a little hint of pink....also, do you have room on either side of your chest to pull a pair of chairs?

The rug looks great under the table. I think I would keep the two end chairs but try something different for the other chairs. I like dining chairs to be comfortable and those look like they would be. If you had the other four recovered, I wonder if the upolsterer could remove the curl from the other four and make them more neutral. That might work.

I don't love the chairs - I LOVE the rug and the rest of the room - but the chairs should be cleaner lines. :-)
