are you one of the 17,000?

According to Better Homes and Gardens this photo has been pinned over
 17,000 times on Pinterest!
What draws you to this room?
For me it's the bold statement of the large patterned rug,
impact, but in a subtle way because of the neutral tones!

bhg.com

Look what I spotted in stock at Home Depot last Friday, certainly not exact,
but could achieve a similar vibe, don't you think?
Mowhawk, Simpatico Model #301293 here
The quality is in line with the inexpensive price tag -  $187 for an 8 x 10!
It had 25 reviews and got a 4.5 out of 5 rating.

I haven't forgotten about the dining room update I was working on,
but hadn't found anything that spoke to me until I saw this.
I brought home the 5 x 7 as a test.
This time of day the paint takes on a more yellow tone,
during most of the day it is lighter, but still a little creamier than the white in the rug .

In this photo you can see the short pile easier, it certainly isn't dense,
but the backing doesn't show when you separate the fibers.

Does anyone know the source for the rug in the original bhg photo,
on their site there were a lot of comments asking, but no reply.

What do you think?

So, what did you decide? Committing and getting the bigger size or waiting for the BHG source? It's a great rug for the price, no doubt.

We have that rug in an 8x10 and love it. I was shocked when we found it at HD, such a steal!

So pretty and looks much more expensive than $187 for an 8x10.

PS I am loving the feel of your dining room already!

At $187 what have you got to lose? It's the look for less and sometime when you find a different rug that speaks to you, you won't feel bad about moving on! Go for it!

I was immediately drawn to those pretty tulips displayed ever so nicely, but then I went to those great chairs because I have furniture on the mind. I love your chandelier in your dining room and I think you've found "the look for less" too!

I like the one you found! It's a little more subtle and I like that. As far as the white in it being lighter than your walls - I like that too!

I love the rug, what a great price. It's funny how we have the same color walls and yours looks so much creamier than mine! Mine looks borderline stark, but once I get a rug I think it will help. Yes, I believe I am one of the pinners of that image:)

I love your new rug! It's beautiful! And even if it's a shade different than the wall color, I think that gives depth and interest to the room. I love the look of several different shades of the same color! And that BHG room is gorgeous! I can see why it has so many pins! How did I miss that one?? :)

Have not pinned the BHG pic but it is quite beautiful. I like the HD option. You have some amazing natural light in that room, Pam.

The rug is perfect for a very neutral room. It adds just the right pizazz. I think your HD option is a GREAT alternative (especially for the price). Love HD!

That rug is great! I think it's a good idea to check out the big box stores sometimes. I got my big rug in my living room from Home Depot and I love it. They have lots of different sizes and you have such a variety to choose from.

I was just wondering how your dining room was coming along. I love the rug and think the larger one will be perfect. I think it gives the perfect amount of interest but will still blend nicely with anything else you want to use. Coming along nicely!

Apparently I have been under a rock because I have never seen this image? Drawn to the neutral color scheme and those gorgeous pink tulips & throw. Love your new dining room rug by the way.
