the agony of decision...

Sorry for the late post today, mother nature caused an electrical outage last night
just as I was ready to publish. Thankfully, all is well this morning and I can share the
waffling, wavering, wishy-washy, up-in-the-air indecisiveness I go through when it
comes to decorating my own home.

I love black kitchens and white kitchens...

I could go on for days...do you agonize over your home or
tend to be carefree and at ease about your decor?

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
If by chance you're on the fence about which team to
root for in the Super Bowl, without a doubt...

GO BRONCOS!!!  :)

I'm totally with you on that. Love it all. I'd like to have several homes to decorate. A girl can dream ;)
Have a great weekend.

I agree! I feel so lost sometimes decorating my home because I like so many looks. I try to go through my Pinterest pins from time to time to see if there are any common themes. I have wished before that there was some app or program that would analyze your pins and give you the top 10 things you seem drawn to - it would certainly help give me some focus. I obviously can't manage that on my own:)

I am the very same Pam. I love it all and waiver between tons of color or totally neutral and have both in my home. I want it all, but I do want a cohesive look. I'd love to start over with an all white palette again, like we did when we first moved here 20 years ago. Have a great weekend and hope your Broncos win! xo Nancy

You're not wishy washy, you're just a fan of all things pretty!

My boys are cheering for the Broncos too...Yes, I love so many styles too! I think that's why it takes me forever to make decorating decisions because so much appeals to me! Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, and speaking of football, make sure you watch the commercials (which is all I ever watch) for the adorable puppy one. You have probably seen it floating around on facebook or Youtube but it is just precious! We all may be buying new puppies soon!

So funny you ask because just recently I have been making more of an effort to be more care-free. Ever since I started seriously blogging I find myself more and more cautious...I guess the fear of the "reveal" :) I am trying to just go with my gut more!

I love a multitude of design styles as well. I don't so much agonize over decisions, but do find myself wanting to change things around frequently. Have a great weekend Pam (and I'll cheer the broncos on for you!)

Oh, Pam, that is sooooooo me! At least Germany is giving me a chance to explore all my wishy washy other ideas. Our home away from home has bright white walls and I've been wanting to make the change to all white walls to see where that brings me. I'm thinking maybe a little Scandanavian-esque. But you know, I'll probably change my mind once I get there!! Have a great weekend!

Wait so its not just me. I struggle so much in my home because I love it all and its hard to commit. Although I'm not sure I could do a black kitchen. That scares me a little. Happy weekend and yes, go Broncos!!

I can go in many different directions. That's a good thing, right? I love Elegant, Simple, Black and White, Gold ....you name it. If it feels good ....go with it!

Go Seahawks!!!

I totally agonize! (And go Seahawks, haha, but also Go Peyton/Omaha because my old-school husband is a fan from the Baltimore Colts days.)

I'm paralyzed by indecision in a LOT of ways, and when I finally implement something I've been thinking of, sometimes the other pieces don't fall into place as well anymore. We just got these lovely affordable gray silk curtains from West Elm for our open living/dining room, but now that we have those, I'm unsure of the sconces I had ordered and unsure about loads of other things too. Yipes!

I love various decor also. I try to keep rooms a little neutral and then change accents. It's just so harf to pick one style that is my favorite. I am your newest follower.

I love all the different styles, too. Such a hard decision. For myself, the only color these days is white.

I love that first photo so much! I am drawn to the black and white, too.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with the problem. Misery does love company! I love everything I see and buy too much of it....less is (usually) more I have to remember.

I feel your pain. I am so confused now and I am not getting anything done due to indecisiveness. We plan to paint in the spring but I can't decide which color I want to use. I'm almost sure I want gray but there are so many different grays and I really like so many of them. Good luck but I know whatever you choose will be beautiful. You're one of my favs and I thank you for sharing.

Selecting a style for your own home is the worst! Indecision reigns because we are exposed to so many different styles and concepts. We are able to cull through the muck of great choices and narrow it down for clients. It IS so difficult to decide on our own homes....

I think in this business you see such beautiful things everyday its hard to come home and not want to changes things for me! You had some great images here!

You are so funny. I love color so I just keep a white/neutral background in my own home.

Jalon Burton said...

Oh that white kitchen is one of my favorites!!!! Great to be back in blogland and visit all my friends here... I have missed the beauty and friendship! Hope to see you again soon

I am on the same boat as you all the time Pam, but I get to live my different loves and likes in the different blogs I follow! I guess Beauty is Beauty, no matter the style or your taste, you may not live with it always in your home but appreciate it a lot in others! That's what makes blogging so much fun!

I like the background of my home to be white - bet that surprises ya huh?! I'm hoping to repaint this year as it needs it and I want to go a whiter white with less gold undertones. In certain lights it looks a bit too creamy or a bit yellow to me now. And then on the white I love layers of texture, warm wood, rugs, pops of color here and there that can be changed up as needed or wanted.
