ikea docksta table...

How I wish I could think of a space in my house that would work for the
$199 - 41" round
It's a sturdy, inexpensive knock off of the mid-century modern tulip table
by Euro Sarrinen, that gained popularity in the 1960's.

It's perfect for a smaller kitchen nook, and often shown with banquettes.
It effortlessly mixes with a multitude of chair styles.
This diy with the base painted gold is stunning!

How cool is this diy with chalkboard paint? It would be awesome in a playroom!

Hi Pam! Great examples of the Docksta. We just gave mine to our daughter in NYC who is using it as her dining table. I used it in my studio/office for projects and gift wrapping. We found modern chairs on Craigslist to accompany it for her.

It is one of Ikea's best ever designs. The base gets marked rather easily but Mr Clean Magic Eraser wipes them off easily.

OH my ! That gold base! I've loved this table for a long time but it's a little too small for what I need.
Love all the photos.

What makes this table even better is that it's super easy to assemble, much unlike many other Ikea pieces. ha!

I adore the first image with the gold base - awesome! Although the photo of the table paired with the green ostrich covered chairs is so fab. Great combination.

I love that table. I wanted it for our kitchen quite badly, but every time I go look at it, I decide it's not sturdy enough. I saw one in the as-is that was marked down to $40, but it was so scratched up that it worried me. The finish wouldn't be an easy one to fix when it's scratched. I do love the wood top on the one, that might solve the scratching issue.

Love this table! My friend just found a real one at a junk shop and her dad refinished it for her. Lucky!

I love my Docksta! It's not as nice as the classic Saarinen but I don't worry about it like I would if I had the real deal! Check out the thrift store chairs that I made over to put with it:

Beautiful rooms! I especially love the one with the gold base, but that's no surprise :)

I love too but wonder if it might be too wobbly. I recall seeing comments about that. Would love to know from those commenters who have or had a Docksta feel about that.
