ikea byholma chest...

Hope you all enjoyed a gorgeous fall weekend like we did.
A tennis tournament was on our agenda Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,
is there anything better than watching your kiddo play sports?
Umm, yes...watching in glorious weather!

Last week I planned a quick Ikea trip to get a return crossed off my list,
then it dawned on me it was the perfect opportunity to scope out the
new holiday line for you. :)   (coming later this week)
Before I knew it I was cruising through the entire store cursing at the cart
and snapped a photo of this versatile favorite...

Ikea Byholma Chest here for $60
This rattan chest is available in brown or gray, has a leather strap closure,
adds the ideal texture, functional storage is a bonus,
and the size (28"w x 20"h x 20"d) lends itself to a multitude of uses.
Here's a photo I took in Ikea followed by others I found for inspiration.

I headed out happily enjoying my
 $1 Non-Fat Frozen Yogurt Cone,
(FYI - 100 calories, 4g protein)
which I would choose over those Swedish meatballs any day!

I love that chest! Every time I am at Ikea, I look at it and want to buy it but we already have a glass topped wicker chest as a coffee table in our living room(husband's TV room) and I cannot figure another place for one in the house.

Trying to interest our daughter in it but floor space is at a premium in a NYC apt and she thinks it won't fit. Would be perfect housing her guinea pig's supplies. Would also look great in our son's apt in Chicago too.

I have been asking hubby if we can take a day trip to Pittsburgh because I have not been to Ikea for quite some time and have several things on my list. Need to get there at least once a year!

(the second shot is also the Giannetti's/Velvet & Linen, it is their living room in the Santa Monica house they just sold)

Your pictures are giving me all sorts of ideas. My daughter plays tennis. I love watching her. I don't even know how to keep score, it's just fun.

Forgot to mention, there is nothing better than watching our kids play sports!. Our youngest just played his last high school soccer match this weekend, a playoff match. After years of years of club and school soccer (which we thoroughly enjoyed every minute, driving, bad weather and all) we are in a state of shock! We will adjust I am sure but are rally going to miss it!

I've been wanting to take a drive over to IKEA (since we only live 5 minutes down the road). Might try to sneak over some night this week when it's empty. That chest could work in a variety of ways. The weekend was great here as well - perfect weather.

Nothing better than a decor piece that can look pretty and hide your junk at the same time!

I love that trunk! You would not believe it- when I made my Ikea trip a few weeks ago, they had half of the store closed off for remodeling, not to be reopened until late November. Luckily, I got the few things that were must haves on my list. Still, I was so upset! haha.

Pam I've had my eye on that chest, just trying to figure out where I would use it!

Hi Pam,
I Love baskets. I have not been to Ikea for awhile. I think I need to go and get one of those baskets.
Love all the pictures in this post. I have pinned some to my pinterest board for inspiration.

Wow thats a great looking basket with so many functions, I could actually use that in my new guest room as a side table. I think I will have to check this out today. Thanks.

Is there ever such a thing as a QUICK trip to IKEA? Love the idea of this chest and I should probably get one! It works perfectly for storage in front of the bed.

You've inspired me once again. I have a basket that is similar so I took it and placed it under an entry piece of furniture. Voila! Also, I prefer the protein of the meatballs! Ha ha

Super choice! Are you adding one to your home? I really like the idea of adding lettering or painted design to one. Wish I could stop in to Ikea more often!
