tweaking the diy awning...

I thought for sure I was going to have a fun reveal for you today,
but instead I'm ripping out seams, tweaking it...ugh!
I tried so hard to get a nice tight fit over the frame, and of course, it's too tight at the
corner on both sides, see where that big wrinkle is? Thought so.

The good news...I don't have to rip out the entire seam.
The bad news...I have to take it down, and I made sure it was up there very secure!

Let the good times roll! :)

Oh my gosh, it looks so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the B&W stripes on your house. It's CRAZY to think that this was a DIY (with help from a teenager!!) You rock my world Miss Pam. What will you think of next?

You will get it right but it looks fantastic! So perfect on your house! Will you keep it on year round? We had awnings in our last house that were stored in the winter. It really is charming, Pam!

It is going to be so adorable! Sorry for your frog stitching (rip-it, rip-it.) But it will be so worth it in the end.

OMG this is adorable. It's very similar to the one Bethany bought, but hers is not as fitted. This is going to look sensational, and it looks tricky! Good luck. Have a great week.

Just another day in the life of a DIYer. I'm re-doing a project I thought would be done today as well! :( But, your awning looks FANTASTIC even if it's not perfect yet!

I am in awe of your awning! It is going to be beautiful. I don't know of any who has tackled making an awning, Pam.

Good luck Pam! I didn't notice it until you mentioned it! You've got the perfectionist curse dear, and it just makes everything you do and make all the more beautiful!

you did wonderful... the black and white is EXACTLY what i want for the six windows in my solarium.. can NOT find them anywhere.. i can find lots of ugly maroon stripy stuff online... your site gives me hope of making a future awning for my house.. i did about 15 years ago make an awning out of one half of a metal large satellite dish it turned out spectacular and no wielding it just bolted together and onto the house i did put canvas on it and actually painted the canvas with stencils i wished i had some photos but we had a house fire at that home and none exist.
