I've been so excited to share this makeover with you for a couple reasons:
First, to show you how you can take an 80's tract home with a small kitchen and
give it a timeless look with personality.
Second, to show you it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, my client didn't replace any
appliances, as hard as she wished one of them would break and it would be the perfect
excuse to upgrade, it didn't happen.

Let's get to it:
BEFORE
We couldn't find a photo of Before the Before, but she called it her drive-thru window, imagine
upper cabinets leaving a small opening (window) above the sink looking into the family room.
We (really she) removed them, creating a better sight line and bringing light into the kitchen.
Painting the cabinets white was the background for the timeless look we were going for.
That light area on the wall was a door to the potty! Brilliant idea, Mr. Builder!
We couldn't close it off quick enough, you can access it through the bedroom on the other side.
We added two glass front cabinets for interest and nickel hardware to all the doors and
drawers.
BEFORE
Her table was great quality, just not a great color, we refinished it with a darker stain
to give it a warm, rustic look.
She found the gorgeous side chairs in a neighbor's trash, we painted them white and
had them reupholstered in houndstooth, and paired them with Ikea Henriksdal slip covered
chairs. Her simple iron chandelier was a Craigslist find, we added a few crystals for bling.
We wanted a light colored rug against her darker wood floors and table,
a kid friendly indoor/outdoor from Albert & Dash is pretty and easy to clean.
We (really we!) used Rustoleum's Countertop Transformation Kit to update the faux
butcher block counters, (tutorial in the works). We love the new look, the price and
you can finish it in a weekend!

Wow! I can't believe this is a track home! It turned out beautifully. I really love the chandelier with the added abling. Can't wait for the tips on the black framed botanicals. They really make the space chic and classy.

That before kitchen was ugly (and I thought hopeless- a potty in view, Flintstone wall phone, dreary cabinets, etc.) I can't thank you enough, Pam, for all of your hard work and amazing talent and vision. The results far surpassed my hopes for a bright, fresh, beautiful kitchen. You could not be kinder or more fun to work with, not to mention patient. Somehow you saved me $ with each decision while greatly improving both the value and our enjoyment of our kitchen. We love it all! (The only downside- I burned dinner last night while staring at my beautiful botanicals!)

The counters look amazing, the table is gorgeous in it's new color, and the botanical wall is killer!!!! What color did you use on the walls? I like how it gives the white a little definition but is still neutral. Really pretty - wonderful job!

Beautiful transformation Pam! I love the dining area - the table looks brand new and the rug is perfect. I am intrigued by the counter redo - I have laminate and would love to get rid of it but not sure the house is worth the investment of natural stone - maybe this would be an option. Simply beautiful!! It IS all in the details! You certainly pulled this job together nicely and made your client extremely happy! I could use your help in my kitchen! My home was custom built in the late 60's therefore the cabinetry is good quality just old and squeaky. I hate to do a total tear out but don't think it would be wise to put a new counter top on old cabinets. I'd like to spend that money on a few new appliances...any ideas?

As everyone has said, this is beautiful. I love how much of a transformation occured with just "paint". Changing it on the cabinets, counters, table, and chairs...wow, what a difference!
This is a fabulous example of what a change can be made with paint, a little bit of elbow grease and a few inexpensive elements! Looks very elegant and beautiful!
