to paint or not?

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments on the DIY Candelabra I shared with you.
My dilemma is whether or not to paint it, I love the warm neutral wood, but
oh my, these are gorgeous and I always fall for anything with a high gloss finish.
Don't they look like pieces of artwork?!

And then I go back to the beautiful natural wood.

And, mine...

What do you think?

White, black, navy?
I could always repaint if I get tired of one color,
BUT
once I paint there's no going back!

So, why not have it both ways? Make another one and paint it ;)

I agree with ^^^. If it's not out of the question, make several and rotate them and/or create several/new vignettes. That would give you so many options. And......you made it look so simple.......seems you pulled that one out of the magic hat! But, if you can only have one, I'd personally leave it neutral and pull in color from other things.

Oohh tough call. I LOVE the natural wood, in your examples it just goes with everything and brings a bit of warmth to a table, but I could totally see the high gloss sophistication in your home too!...but unless it's black, or white, maybe not as versatile??

I agree leave this natural and make another to paint. Best of both worlds!

Oh they are all fabulous! I think you just have to make more. I want a black one

I love the natural wood tone it works so well with your decor and can be moved from room to room easily!

That is SUCH a killer DIY!!! Man, I don't know about painting it or not. I'd say leave the natural wood as is for a while and see how you feel after a couple of weeks.

I like the idea of making another one! I love the natural wood, but I don't think you can go wrong whatever you choose. There's that! Those aqua colored ones on the dining table to match the chairs are amazing. It makes me want to add aqua in my house somewhere.

joining in with the others. have you ever tried amy howards lacquer spray in a can? it's brilliant. also has a clear lacquer spray to give that finish over any paint

Well, I guess you'll just have to make another one! That would be my big debate, too.

They all look fantastic! Why don't you make another one (seemed pretty easy!) and have both a natural and painted? I like the high gloss black best. You continue to blow me away with your knock offs! I looked at the candelabra on one of Veranda's sites and it was just under $600.00!!! Thanks for your continued inspiration with decorating and DIY's.

That first one in neon is so fun! To paint or not to paint is always the predicament I find myself in. I think you cannot go wrong whichever you choose. :)

Make some more and then paint those!!!! ;-)

I think what makes these so fun are the colors! But they may just be a flash in the pan and just a trend today. The neutral are - well, neutral, but lack the pop of the colors. $600. is simply outrageous and I cannot believe anyone would really spend that on these. You offer a good alternative- I actually like the shape of yours better! They re reasonable enough to have 2 sets, that's for sure, but i think you'll tire of both versions. Just paint them and be done with them! If you really really love and miss the natural wood you can just make another set, but I suppose you will be done with these and move on to something else just as spectacular!

I have Stacy's (Dunes and Duchess) 4-arm Candelabra in the limed wood and LOVE it. I love it's simplicity. I vote leave it, but I'm biased.

I love the look of the natural wood as it is so versatile and you can move it around the house....This is definitely one of the best DIY's this year...

I prefer the natural as it goes with anything and everything and is so organic. Painting is beautiful too.

I like the natural wood and think you should keep it that way. HOWEVER, if you paint it, give it a glossy black finish. It would look much more sophisticated and expensive.
