Oh, you guys I really wanted to have painted cabinets to show you today
but it wasn't in the cards! : (
I knew it was going to be iffy, we had family in town for a few days and then
Mother Nature didn't cooperate with my painting plans. The good news is it warmed
up today and I have the sweetest friend ever in history, between the two we made up for
lost time and are on a roll with painting the cabinets!
This could be the ugliest photo I've ever put on my blog!
It isn't pretty, but it's progress...all primed and ready for the paint tomorrow.

This would be that sweetest friend lying on my floor sanding, and on top of that she is
so dang funny she makes this seem like fun...almost!
31 doors and drawers, sanded and filled...
Got the paint booth all set up in our lovely 1938 garage...
The wet primer had an orange peel finish which had me checking with Google to
troubleshoot the problem, luckily a little patience took care of it and it dried perfectly
smooth! Yes!!
I can't wait to share the scoop on the HomeRight Paint Sprayer.
I'll do a full tutorial once the cabinets are complete, but I'll give you a hint
LOVE!!!
Go see what our fabulous friends have been up to this week...

This is a huge undertaking. I am so curious about the sprayer and the final finish. Looks great so far. You have an amazing friend.
Looking good Pam! It's definitely a big undertaking, but worth it in the end! These paint pyramids might come in handy for your doors while they're drying - a big help for me! http://t.homedepot.com/p/Hyde-Painter-s-Pyramids-10-Pack-43510/202102480
So exciting Pam!! This is going to really refresh your already beautiful kitchen, can't wait for next week's edition!!
Go girl! Nothing better than working with a funny friend. And I LOVE that you are painting your cabinets, and that Mr. Simple let you, your kitchen is gonna be awesome!

Huge progress in my opinion! It's got to feel good to have this part out of the way. It's looking great! Keep it up, friend.
I'm exhausted just thinking about all this work. I'm sure it will be great!
Ive got my eye on that sprayer and I'm patiently anticipating your review and tutorial! Yay! We have a rather large project right ahead of us:) PS- your sweet friend sanding- oh my gosh!
I totally want to hear about how you dealt with that orange peel paint finish. I like to paint almost as much as I like to sew. Looking forward to the how-to.
Therese - the orange peel leveled out on its own and dried completely smooth. Panic set in when I saw it, but we just needed to be patient and wait for it to dry!
Wow Pam! I can relate having just done this last year.. and now we are moving and will start again. The good news is that it will be done for us this time!! What a project......... good luck finishing things up.
Progress sometimes doesn't equal pretty, but what I do see is a ton of hard work! Great job and can't wait to see the future pretties!!!
What a great friend, and I'm sure it was much more easier to do the job when you're having fun with a friend. Can't wait to see the cabinets.
Such a big project, but I can already tell that all of your hard work will pay off big time! Yeah progress!!
Pam, the soup cans as props are brilliant. Why am I not surprised that you thought of everything! Can't wait to see your painted cabs!!!!

Now that is a good friend! And I love the use of the Campbell soups! This will be so fabulous! You are going to be so happy with those cabinets. It will make such a difference.
This very thing is ahead of me soon. I'm both dreading it and can't wait to get my sprayer out again for a little exercise! Looking like great progress for you so far!!
I'm so very impressed you're doing these cabinets yourself, Pam. If I tried that, they would be horrible! Good luck and hope you have cooperative weather!
For someone who had friends over, you accomplished a lot!!!!!! It's all lookin' great Pam and I can't wait to see more next week! Give you friend a huge pat on the back for me, she is awesome!
Yay, gray! This is a huge paint project... kudos for doing it yourself. Also- so surprised your concrete counter is chipping. I was thinking of using concrete for my eventual kitchen redo but now I'm a little nervous.
you make it look so easy. i know its hard work! go girl.
I love my sprayer! And look at you go. This is awesome!
I have to paint my cabinets this year, so sick of the glaze but I dont think I will be as brave as you are to do it myself!! Cant wait to see the continued progress!
This is such an enormous project... so daunting. Thanks for taking us through the process!
That's A LOT of work! Can't wait to see them all back in place now :D
I totally need to invest in a sprayer. Wish I would have had one when i did my kitchen cabinets. They are looking beautiful.
You are so brave for tackling this huge project yourself instead of hiring help. I am so happy you have a friend to help you out. Can't wait to see the painted cabinets! :)

Paint Sprayer! MC needs to learn about that!
It's going to be beautiful. Can't wait to see!
I must see the details on this sprayer. We tried one on cabinets years ago that did not work out but yours look beautiful. This is such an exciting project.
You are brave...or crazy....not sure which yet! What a job you have Pam. Seriously. I have been trying to paint a chair for a week but this dang yellow pine pollen is ruining my plans. Looking forward to hearing about the sprayer.....
I've heard the Home Right sprayer is fantastic! Can't wait to see how it all turns out!
I'm so impressed!!
Looks great Pam! I'm dying for a paint sprayer so I can't wait for the tutorial!
Oh you are coming along great! What a huge undertaking - I have some cabinets in my kitchen to paint and I just keep putting it off cause it's such a huge job. And I don't have near the amount of cupboards you do and I will just paint them where they are - doors and all - cause they are a hodge podge of different cupboards and what the room really needs is gutted and all new everything!
bravo to progress and great friends. that is no small feat. can't wait to hear about the sprayer.
Oh my word Pam - you get the award for taking on the most painted cabinetry. Big fist bumps for that. Do you crash at night or what? I'm exhausted just thinking about how much work that is, but your awesome friend saves the day. How nice of her! You got this Pam!!!
Way to go tackling that painting job and I am looking forward to a full review of the sprayer!! Got to love those sweet friends that will lay on the floor and sand for you!! xo
Hi Pam! Your cabinets look great--cant wait to see your tutorial on the sprayer. Looking forward to your progress next week :)
You have been hard at work and they are looking beautiful!! Mother nature always gets in my way with these projects too. :)
One of the biggest surprises about this challenge is how hands on you all are, its blows my mind how clever and talented, thankfully my husband is the handy one in our family I just stand their instructing, but you have me inspired Im getting out that spray gun! Love the colour of the cupboard doors this is going to look fantastic!
Can't wait for this! That's a good friend to help paint cabinets!
