It's Only Paint!

Hi guys, hope you had a wonderful weekend!
I decided to start a new project, because I have a to-do list longer than my arm, and
after waffling for two years about painting my dining room - today is the day it must
be done!
For as long as I can remember I've loved the fresh green color
Chartreuse, Citron, Moss, Fern, Lime, Olive, Pea.
I've used it here and there on pillows and the seats in my dining room, but I've
always wanted a big, bold dose.
I was SO excited and couldn't get my samples on the wall fast enough,
 now I'm getting chicken.
With windows, french doors and a wide opening there's not a huge amount
of wall space, and I decided against the neon hue, so it won't be shockingly bright!
But, it's not exactly your everyday neutral. :)

The color I chose is Behr's Riesling Grape, on top and the larger sample on the left below,
because it was a bit more muted.

My super sweet friend offered to help paint AND re-paint if I didn't like it!
I'm going to take her up on it and knock it - give us a day and keep your fingers crossed
it doesn't look like you're walking into a moss covered jungle. :)

Excellent choice!!! I can live through you!!! I've gone with white walls, and I wonder how long it will last. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised no matter what shade you choose.

This will be so awesome! I just painted the inside of my desk a green like that, so I'm totally feeling you with this color choice.

I love it! As a child I had a lime green bedroom and my dining room at our lake house is that color green. Cannot wait to see the finished product.

Yes!!!!!!! I love bold wall colors, balanced with good natural light and neutrals. Can't get on the all gray band wagon.

What a wonderful friend you have. Since the wall space isn't large it shouldn't be to overwhelming. Plus once you hang the artwork back up the color will tone down. I can’t wait to see it when it's done.

Last summer we painted our living room Fresh Sprout (it was Behr Marquee) which is approximately the color you are considering. We LOVE it!

No matter the color, I think you will make it look smashing Pam!

I painted our entire living and dining room area this color a few years ago and loved it! Eventually I painted over it with a sand color, and there are moments when I really regret that. Can't wait to see your finished project! I know it will be gorgeous :)

Hi Pam, I love that color! Hope it looks great on the wall and you are happy with it. The new color will invariably fuel changes in your adjoining rooms which will be fun for the warm months too.

Im excited for you! I'd come help if I could, it should be alot of fun. I love the citron color with a yellowy base. Good luck and keep remembering if you can't experiment on your own home, where can you? xo Nancy

I have painted something in the last three of my houses a yellow green color- the first was my kitchen walls, this time it was my very old kitchen cabinets:) such a cheerful way to start and end the day! The only thing I would warn you of is that my green turns neon in the afternoon light... even after having paint samples on the walls for a couple of days before choosing a color, I did not anticipate that:)

Wow, good for you Pam! I saw you post this on IG and I had to comment there because my FR used to be this exact color! We painted it when we moved here 15 years ago and it was that color until about 10 years ago (so, I guess I had it for 5!) I got a lot of compliments on it too!

Good luck! Hope you love it and can't wait to see!

I love it Pam. I can relate to how paralyzing choosing a paint color can be. I am contemplating painting mine a very deep purple and I think I am just going to trust my gut! Unfortunately, my husband is saying it is here to stay, at least for a while :)

Can't wait to see if I'm seeing green on your house tour tomorrow!!!! Looks like a fabulous color!
