on my thrifting list... vintage decanters

Recently I've started paying more attention to vintage decanters, and found
a couple while thrifting. Hopefully, the beginnings of  a beautiful collection.
Besides being functional for entertaining, they'd make a gorgeous display in
my  built-ins in our family room, or hutch in the living room, or buffet in the
dining room, or centerpiece for a party, or....

Do I have you thinking about where you'd put a pretty collection?

That will be a great collection to start!!! I have a few from years ago but wish I could find some with the gold trim....I will have to be on the lookout!

Oh I have some in our basement bar. Maybe I should bring them upstairs ;)

Beautiful displays of such versatile pieces, Pam. Sadly, I passed up a collection of 6 or 7 for a mere $25 this past summer at a yard sale. I knew I liked them, but just didn't have vision for them. The prowl is back on, though! Great post!

Swoon! You always find the best treasures. I am sure a set of decanters and barware will find their way to you soon!

Wow, those with the good greek key trim are gorgeous! Never seen those before. I love the one with the mouthwash in it!

Good timing, I forgot I had one of these. I'm going to pull it out and put pink tulips in it for the shower I'm hosting this weekend. That'll be a fun juxtaposition!

I've seen quite a lot of these but haven't jumped the gun on them yet since I'm not sure what to do with them (since we are the type of people who use the bar cart for display only ;-). They are beautiful pieces and looking at how their displayed here makes me want to grab my own soon!

I've been looking at these too lately while I'm shopping for my bar cart and would just love to fall upon some beautiful vintage ones like you show! With your amazing Craigslist skills, I'm sure you'll have a full collection in no time!

I use my vintage decanters in my bathrooms. Try filling one with scope and add small cups beside it. Your guests will love it!

I love anything vintage! That one photo seems to show a decanter holding mouthwash by a bathroom sink. Brilliant idea! I see a reader above does the same thing.
