craigslist scoooore...

My Craigslist addiction was in full force on the weekend, I couldn't be more excited
about this pair of vintage Henredon wingbacks I scored. I was immediately smitten with
the vibrant colors, birds and peonies, and for $40 each I couldn't pass them up!

This photo was buried in an ad among several other items for sale (with a vague title)
I just happened to scroll through.

The gentleman I met said he was selling for his 88 year old mother, who'd purchased them
in the '60s. Based on the details and down cushions I'm guessing they were a custom order.
When I asked him about their pristine condition, he said,
"They were in the parlor and no one was allowed to sit in them!"

We didn't waste any time breaking them in!

I've always thought a pair of chairs would be perfect in our front bay window,
but it's caused quite the dilemma of how arrange everything.
Clearly, I have a tad too many Craigslist scoooores on my hands!

Stay tuned, and I'll be back to share more when I get this chaos under control. :)

Nobody has EVER inspired me as much as you have! I'm searching CL for a two man kayak. I must have lost my mind to have strayed from furniture! Excellent score...

That is an amazing score! The first thing I noticed in your last photo was how the batik fabric colors pick up on your new chair colors. That pop of coral is so fresh and pretty, I love it. But where will the fabulous settee end up?? You're welcome to send it over here to MA if it doesn't fit anymore :) :)
