While wandering through a thrift store a couple months ago I noticed this beautiful
vintage painting on canvas. I loved it, but it was December and I was knee deep in Christmas
prep, parties, shopping and the last thing I needed was to haul home another treasure.
But, it spoke to me and I envisioned it being the inspiration piece for a pretty
spring/summer update, paired with some modern elements.
Imagine my surprise yesterday when Better Homes & Gardens announced their
2015 Color Palette of the Year
and three of their picks are included in my painting! Who knew?!?!
Rain Forest Green, Warm Blush, Shape-Shifting Coral
Oceanic Blue, Fresh Berry, Sophisticated Gray
Better Homes & Gardens 2015 Color Palette of the Year
I'd been considering a few ideas, but hadn't thought of painting...hmmm.
I'm working up the courage for something with this vibe...

I am surprised, too. I am not a fan of the peaches and greens personally. I did peach in a big way when I first got married and am not revisiting that.....yet. I am wild about that Fresh Berry color though. But, you know, we can make anything work! xo Nancy
I love that bright and fresh green - and your idea on how to use it! Pretty and bold. Your new painting is so pretty and I can't wait to see you build a look out of this inspiration piece!!
That painting!!! And I'm actually loving all those colors
I love that color palette!....I am happy that those peachy/coral colors were included as I have a beautiful Lee sofa in that soft peach color...actually the sofa was originally taupe and it turned that color...
I am anxious to see what you will be doing...and must say that that painting is so beautiful!
Your painting is beautiful! Love the new color palette! Enjoy your day!
Yes! Love the painting, that will be so pretty in your house! I have a pair of velvet green panels that I snagged after Christmas for $12.50 each. Maybe I need to send them your way!
Definitely! I love those shades of green and pink together (and of course with a little bit of gray thrown in :) - that would look beautiful in your home!
Very fresh looking. Totally says Springtime which is lovely. Especially considering we have 10" of snow outside and it is still coming down!
i love this palette so much more than i love anything that involves marsala.
Yes, it's perfect for Spring too!
Very preppy and springy! With our cold, snowy winter, its' nice to see some cheerful colors!
