please, mr. simple, can I have it...

mr. simple has been asking for weeks what I'd like for Christmas,
I finally found something...

A BIG tree trunk, this is just SO cool, but it is HUGE (good & bad)!

One year I asked for a BIG rock for Mother's Day!
As in landscape art - not diamond - not that I don't like diamonds,
but they seem a little ordinary compared to this, don't you think?

I was thinking a coffee table on the deck...and on rollers, oh my!
I had to share these...

Which reminds me, remember this post about logs
well, it didn't exactly go as planned.
We'd had a snowstorm and I saw branches down all over the neighborhood,
but when I asked mr. simple if our chain saw worked
I kind of got a look like - you've got to be kidding!

Plan B was to 'borrow' the neighbor's pile of logs,  just for the holidays.
I came to my senses when I started thinking about what may be lurking in the logs
that had been outside for a few months.

Back to the tree trunk...

I drove mr. simple by the only thing on my Christmas list.

me:  "How do you think we could get it home?"
mr. simple:  "A crane and a truck, or about 30 guys!"
me:  "How do the guys that trim trees move them?"
mr. simple: "They cut them up!"
me: "Oh."

Maybe these pretty pictures will sway him! :)

Where there's a will, there's a way! Keep problem solving, it'd totally be worth it...that's a stump with huge possibilities!

Oh my - you are a woman after my own heart!!!!! Tree trunks and rocks - be still my heart!

The bigger the rock, the better - but then there "is" the problem of moving them! Alas we had to leave our rock table at the old house.

The trunk on wheels is way, way too cool!!!!!

Too funny! Love how rustic those trunk tables are, a nice touch. Can't wait to see how Mr. Simple makes your Christmas wishes come true!

This would be incredible!! If Mr. Simple can make this happen, he is for sure the husband of the decade.

Pam, you are a woman after my own heart. This sounds like me. It is beautiful. I once loaded up my van twice with FREE flagstone and rocks.

Hehe..."does our chainsaw work?" My husband would be FRIGHTENED I tell you. I love your idea and I know you would implement too and it would be GOOD, real good. I'm in love with that neutral living room - as much as I love color I certainly adore neutrals. I always forget about the whole what creatures might be creepy crawley on this stuff, and I guess you can burn logs but you can't burn an entire stump - well I guess you could but then you've got a diminished piece of wood from what you orignially wanted. Ok, I'll stop here :)

Girl, I am so with you on this one! One of our full grown trees in the back yard died this summer and I can not wait to cut it down and use it in some similar way! I say, Do it!
