one room challenge ~ week 2

First, you guys are the BEST!
Thank you SO much for all your sweet comments and support last week!!
You can catch up with Week 1 - The Plan  here.

This week we were pleasantly surprised when our budget friendly upholstered
headboard was delivered. Great quality, great nailheads, great service,
great price $149, and free shipping and returns!
I'm so hesitant to tell you where it's from, deep breath 1 - 2 - 3 - Walmart!

A simple silhouette was best against the busyness of the windows, and with free shipping
and returns we decided to order both colors we were debating. We liked the lighter oatmeal
color, linen-like fabric and contrast of the nailheads.

We narrowed down color and fabric choices.
Here were some of the combinations we played with, she is a neutral loving girl.
Do you have a favorite?

We were keeping our fingers crossed for nightstands to show up on Craigslist, on
Sunday morning I opened my CL tab and these amazing Drexel campaign chests had
been listed 27 minutes earlier! $30 each! I dialed the number so fast and talked even
 faster...IwanttobuyyourchestswhencanIpickthemup?
They're an awesome size, we wanted large, and we're hoping they're not too big.

When you stop by next week we'll have splashed crisp white paint from top to bottom
and will show you some of our other Craigslist pieces we're incorporating.

Love the direction this is going in. I love all of the fabric combos. I am really digging the orange/sweet potato colored fretwork fabric. I need to know where I can get it ;-)

LOVE all choice but of course my eye goes to the 3rd set of fabrics because they are neutral classics!
Headboard-great!! This will be so wonderful

I like the neutral palette and the leopard! :) my two cents. Great progress!

Those chests are amazing - what a find! And I love all of the fabric combos but of course I gravitate towards neutral #3 (surprising, right?!). I love how this room is taking shape!

Wow!! Wal mart has stepped it up! and you have the best CL luck, amazing find!! They will be perfect!

Wow, looking good! I've seen those headboards at Walmart, they're fantastic! I love all of the color combos. The pinks/ reds look so striking for my color loving self, but the blues greens are a little more calming andt still give some color, but then the last group of neutrals is gorgeous too! You can't lose with any of them. THE CHESTS! Those are fabulous! Love little blessings at just the right time like that!

I love all the fabric combos and the headboards are wonderful!

I cannot tell you how many scores I have had at Walmart....seriously it's shocking sometimes. I am partial to that neutral color palette in your fabrics and those sidetables?! what a CL score! Can't wait to see what comes next, it's looking great! xoxo

You always find the best things on CL. I seriously have the all time worst CL area. Seriously, pue crap. I love the headboard choice and I love that it came from Walmart. This is real life. As for fabrics I pick options one or two. I love the city square fabric though and the chartreuse color way is really pretty too.

I believe I'm the only commenter who prefers #2!! They're all lovely, but there's something about that combination of fabrics that I'm loving! Whatever you do will be incredible, Pam!

I cannot believe you scored those chests just in time!! That Wallmart headboard is amazing!

I absolutely adore the third option but I could see all three incorporated in my own home. I guess I choose them all! :) haha Great score on the chests, btw and the headboard is fantastic! Can't wait to see more next week!

You are one great shopper! Amazing the buys you land! Great headboard....who cares what store it came from..!
I know those chests are going to look like Showroom pieces next week!

i ordered the gray linen headboard from WM way back in the spring...couldn't believe the price either! right now it's in storage waiting for the room to get planked and painted and completely made over (sometime this winter).

can't wait to see your room reveal!

And this post is such a tease!!!!!!!!!

You must have a fairy CL godmother! You find the best stuff. My CL is full of Ikea crap.

My favorite is #1, the greens and blues are very Mother Nature neutral; however, #3 is lovely too, very, very neutral. What a steal and fab find on the nightstands. It's going to be beautiful.

Great to know Walmarts headboards are good quality, and great score on those night stands. Can't wait to see it all done.

FABRIC - for those of you asking about the fabrics, I found all of them at our local Calico Home.
Green - Ali Baba (Emerald)
Orange Geometric - Thom Filicia - Citysquare (Terratone)
Coral Blossom - Sakura (Kumquat)

You know I'm going to love this!! I cant wait for the results.

Haley said...

Walmart?! Wow, I never would have guessed. I normally won't step foot in there (the ones in our city are just gross), but I might have to make an exception to get a headboard.

Unknown said...

FANTASTIC Pam!!! It is surprising where you find the deals if you just check out every single home dept. in all the stores. Youre the best on CL! awesome score. I am loving the green combo. She is one lucky lady to have you help her! xo Nancy

Unknown said...

I think I like all the fabric options! Can't wait to see which one you use :)

Linda {Calling it Home} said...

Walmart? Did you say Walmart? I am also voting for #2. You are trucking along, and looking fantastic.

Those dressers are great! And what a price. Can't wait to see how it will turn out in the room. About a year ago, I put two small dressers in my bedroom in place of our previous tiny night stands. It was great to suddenly how so much more useable storage.

Naomi@DesignManifest said...

Amazing nightstand score!!! I'd love a set.

Tracy Laverty said...

Oh Pam- those fabric combos are all so great! What a great deal on those dressers. You're amazing!

Oh my goodness Pam, those chests are amazing! I've been searching for a pair like that for forever! What a steal!

Ange said...

I looked at that same headboard last week, good to know it's not scary and cheap looking! And I love the #2 fabric combination, that is fabulous! Wow! They are all pretty but that one stood out the most to me. Can't wait to see what you ended up going with. Finally, I can't believe you got those nightstands for that price. I have been stalking CL for a few things and have had no luck. Maybe you need to look for me! ;)

Vel Criste said...

Glad your zooshing up the headboard, its gonna be fab! I got the same headboard from Walmart too but I love it for now, without any changes, I can't wait to see yours Pam!

kate@willowinteriors said...

I've pinned those headboards in the past but have never had the guts to order...thank you so much for sharing! Now i won't hesitate next time! Okay, love all those windows and kinda digging the pink and orange combo, but you said she was a neutral girl so the last color choice is gorgeous as well. I'm so glad you had ORC-karma and scored those nighstands! They will look great!

Brenda said...

You are the queen of CL. Great find for you and your client. Love that you found the headboard at Walmart; who knew? Now we all do. All of the fabric choices are good but I am drawn to #1. Can't wait to see all that you do.

Elizabeth @ The Little Black Door said...

You know I'm voting for the coral fabric combo. :) And I want to come to Denver so I can share in all your amazing craigslist scores!

Holly Gruszka said...

Wow Pam - look at the progress you've made already. Color loving that I am - I really like the neutral selections at the bottom. And nice CL find too!

mrs. V | Chez V said...

My vote is for #2. Corals and pinks - sign me up. That coral blossom is a fav. And the dressers. Score of the century for sure. Those scores do not exist in OH!

Lesley said...

I ordered that same headboard a year ago....you can't beat it for the price! Can't wait to see your room come together!
