10 stylish ways to update a lamp...

I'll confess I have a collection of old lamps taking over the guest room in our basement,
so it goes without saying I'd have a collection of diy ideas for updating them...some day!
These are from my 'Secret Diy' Pinterest board, but since sharing is what blogging is all
about, I decided to give you a peek at what I put in my private file...

1. Easiest and most popular, recover the shade.

You always hand out great advice! I've never thought of adding feet to a lamp. You can embellish a lamp for my house any day!

Love all the ideas. Yesterday I bought a simple shade from Lowe's for my son's room. I wanted to replace the basic worn out one that came with the lamp. It was a quick and cheap update!

I had a couple lamps when we were first married and that was the only light we had in our living room. And to plug them in I had to run extension cords around the baseboard and into the other room. Since we redid the room and I have can lights and a center light I have not been able to bring myself to use lamps!! LOL! All the cool stuff out there being done to the shades is making me think it might be time to do a lamp again though!!

Pam, you are a mind reader! Gwyneth and I have been brainstorming ways to update the shades on our new Ikea sconces in the bedroom, and this is just what we needed for inspiration! Thank you!

Love the blue and white lamp on the dark wood! This is great Pam.. I need a guest room lamp and I'm still looking for two small ones for the side tables in my bedroom. I'm torn between a more contemporary look or going a little more traditional...

I love this post. Lamp enhancements are the most fun and unexpected surprise in a room. I love the insides of shades to be gold or even that ikat pattern! great idea. All of these are spectacular ideas.

Wow so many good ideas. I will have to take inventory of the lamps in my house and see which could use a makeover, I am not terribly crafty but this looks like something even I could attempt!
