Rio isn't allowed on the furniture, but the bed...we're guilty.
She has to wait until we put her Scooby Doo blanket down,
and it gets washed every week...

What's the rule at your house?

This is so funny Pam :) I too am guilty.. My girls (2 english springers) are allowed on one of our couches. They must be on their blankets. Part of enjoying your pet is being able to snuggle with them. I make sure that they are off the couch and the leather is cleaned prior to guests coming. Unfortunately not everyone likes dogs..

I love all the photos! To me a home isn't a home without a dog. We let our labradoodle on our furniture even though he's huge and he sheds. I just love having a dog snuggled up close to me!

This is so cute! We started off well... He is allowed on the bed and can only go on the furniture if he's invited. I can't resist:)

These are so cute! Andy is not on the furniture, just our sons' bed because he has a duvet that is washed regularly. He loves to sleep on his own dog bed most nights though. When we have overnight guests, he thinks it is his duty to sleep with them for some reason. Always gets kicked off initially, if the door is left open, he sneaks back in when they have fallen asleep! The blanket idea is a good one. I LOVE the shot of the golden in the gorgeous black rom!

I love my Buster. He is the best pal ever...but he is not allowed on the furniture. Once in a while, he can come on the bed, but it is by invitation only.

we don't let our dogs on furniture..... we tried letting jake on the bed on his own blanket but he has soft white fur that gets everywhere and it was driving me bonkers.... he loves me and just wants to be close to me. so i got him his own bed for our room next to my side of the bed and he is happy there. he is always so excited when i go up to bed. sometimes he goes before me. :)

Hi Pam,
We have 2 dogs, 1 is a Boxer and she is not allowed on the furniture or the bed. If you sit on the floor though she thinks she is a lap dog and wants to sit on your lap. We also have a Bishon Shiatsu cross that is the size of a cat. She is allowed on the couch , but not the bed. She does not shed so our clothes are fine. Love all the pictures of the beautiful dogs.

No cuddly canines at our place...... yet! I'm sure I'd be a "softie" though and let them have the run of the place. :)

I love your dog's name. My roommate before we got married had a dog and I still love her to pieces. Her name is Layla and she's the sweetest little cockapoo. It's so hard to look at these pretty rooms with all of the cute dogs lounging in them ;)

My Lab, Bayleigh, is only "allowed" on the sofa when no one is home. We couldn't break her of this habit so we put her blanket on the sofa every time we leave.

As a fellow Golden lover/owner, I am adoring this post! I am so guilty of letting my girls sleep on my bed!

You seriously need to add a photo of Rio...on your bed...with the Scooby Doo blanket...now!

Mine have been allowed on the couch and the bed. Recently, my little girl lab has had surgery, and will not be allowed anymore to jump onto anything , lest she undo all we are doing to help her. This ought to be interesting as her "brother" is still ready and able....

Awww cute post! You can imagine which one of these photos is my favorite…..
My pup doesn't go on the furniture, or beds….but the fur is everywhere. He doesn't go upstairs but the stairs and upstairs carpet is covered with his fur anyway from our feet! Ahhhh, life with a dog.
Okay let's see Rio and her Scooby Doo blankie!!!!!

Oh, love these photos. Our dog, Poppy, likes her bed better than our furniture. She also loves going under the beds.

I am guilty of letting my pets on the furniture, but usually two out the three would rather lay on their beds and the other doesn't shed. I guess it kinda works out :)

Those pups look like the perfect accessory in each of those rooms. I too would love to see Rio with her blanket!

OOooooh, could you please find dog #1 and just put him on my doorstep! He is so adorable. I loved these pictures and the dogs were pretty cute too!

These photos are so cute Pam. I love seeing all of the pups. Gracie and Jack aren't allowed on the furniture. They both have beds in my room that they sleep on.

Cute little guys! Cats aren't as obedient as dogs apparently-can't keep my little Scout off of my WHITE chairs. Just bought two new cans of Scotchguard. :}

If someone reads this post and doesn't smile, then they're not breathing. Adorable. Love me some canines!

I love that saying. Our dogs are EVERYWHERE. I think the only place they're not allowed is in the baby's crib! Give it time, I'm sure they'll figure a way to get in there with him eventually!

You know my rule! No ANIMALS IN THE HOUSE!!

Katie {Miss Dixie} said...

oh my, this made my day Pam! I think I take a picture of Dixie on our bed every single day. Yes, we have dog hair, but she loves it so much. Poor Tucker doesn't like to be up high so he prefers to lay under the bed! haha.

The photos are adorable, but I heartily disapprove of dogs on the furniture. We have a Jack Russell Terrier and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They are not allowed on the furniture, including the bed. Previously, they were allowed (it was hard to retrain them), but they were simply too hard on the upholstery, and the bed was too crowded. We often sit on the floor with them, which makes them very happy.

Yep, dogs allowed here - on the leather sofa AND on the bed. A house is not a home without a dog (or 2) !

Love this post...Anything with dogs and I'm sold! Our dog rules the house. I did a post on decor and dogs. It was one of my favorites.

Before we had a dog, I swore we would never allow him or he on the furniture. As I am writing, my darling Rosie is napping on her favorite chair...go figure! I don't know how I ever let this happen. Luckily, it is the chair that I don't like so if it gets wrecked, I will just have to buy a new one - oh well. Unfortunately, she will already be used to sleeping on a chair so I guess I have a problem! Have a great weekend, Pam.

What's the rule at our house? Our beloved Dorje allows us to share her bed and on occasion will actually scoot over to give me extra room.

Carrie @ Hazardous Design said...

Our dogs have hair instead of fur, so they don't shed. This means we are vey lax when it comes to rules around here. They go wherever they want!

Shirley@Housepitality Designs said...

This is one of the cutest posts I have seen...I love it...I do not have any dogs but my sister has either a blanket or "bed" of sorts for her dog almost every room....so you know who "rules the roost"....love that pillow!!
