TGIF - The Gems I Found

Thanks for stopping by today friends, have a wonderful weekend!

I'm adding a stay at this lovely hotel, decorated in pinks, to my bucket list.

You won't even recognize this home!
The most charming front porch makeover with a great Before & After.

I ordered this fun Bell Sleeve top today - fingers crossed, it was only $11.99!

My family loved this Easy Thai Shrimp Soup I made this week.

A sweet reader was inspired by my post earlier this week, and shared her new
vase she found thrifting (for $1.99) and spray painted.
I think it's perfect, oh and it was purple!

On My Shopping List ~ After Analyzing This Reveal

I love to analyze decorated rooms, and pour over the details to define what draws
me in. I especially love to focus on which items speak to me that would be nice additions
to my home or suggestions for clients. I'm always looking for pieces that give a lot of bang for
the buck, and can easily move from room to room, or that elusive one-of-a-kind treasure
that just might pop up on Craigslist. :)

You may have seen this amazing reveal that I found myself dissecting today.

White Textured Vase
I counted 8 white vases/vessels in these two rooms, I particularly like the ones with texture.
Keep in mind - it's simple to spray paint a vase
if you're thrifting and see something you like that's an off color.

Pedestal Dish
The gold detail on that pedestal dish takes it up a notch (I recognize this one from Anthro).
Again, super simple to paint a base on any bowl to recreate this look.

Work Lamp
So unique and functional ~ the idea of a work lamp on the kitchen counter.
I did a post about this gem from IKEA that they used.

Organic Wood Furniture
I'd typically disregard this piece as 'not my style' but it's the perfect addition to
achieve an eclectic look, and the warm wood is so good against crisp white walls.

I tend to be easily distracted when I'm out and about shopping or thrifting, :)
I like to keep a list of items I'm looking for on my phone.

I Spy a Craigslist Buy (9)

Last weekend a sweet reader bought my dining chairs I was selling, and she
mentioned how much she liked the 'I Spy a Craigslist Buy' series I'd done
in the past. Looking back the last one was in January, I guess overdue is an
understatement ~ so let's catch up!

These listings are currently available on Denver's Craigslist,
(Click the link below the heading)
and I've paired them with inspiration pics to give you an idea how the pieces can be used.
(Ugh, you guys I'm so sorry for the different fonts, I copy it from Craigslist and it appears as if
I've got it right and then goes wonky on me. #sorrynottechnical)

 Rattan dressers - $10 (Centennial/littleton)

https://denver.craigslist.org/fuo/5808238395.html

These would make a great pair of nightstands, painted and hardware cleaned and shined.

Study Table with Chair - $35
https://denver.craigslist.org/fuo/5809523207.html

This looks like it's been freshly painted! I think the gold hardware in the
pic below stands out and looks richer than the brushed nickel.

Charish

Sanity Fair

Antique side table - $45 (Stapleton)

https://denver.craigslist.org/atq/5820698384.html

These classic side tables are great for an entry, nightstand, end table, and easily
mix with any style. I love the lion's head ring pull. A a quick coat of
Rub 'n Buff would bring back the brass color. In the pic below pairing it with
the modern style white gourd lamp keeps it from looking overly formal.

Classic Casual Home

Rattan Daybed - $50

The Inspired Room

Dining room table (no chairs) - $40
https://denver.craigslist.org/fuo/5770555697.html

Such a versatile table, and a steal!

My Five Favorites - Entertaining Accessories

I can't even believe it's October, and as much as I hate that the year has flown by I do
love everything about fall! Entertaining is right up there at the top of my list, and I'm
in the mood for some fall cooking, aka comfort food in my book, and get-togethers with
 friends and family.
This month for My Five Favorites we're sharing Entertaining Accessories,
I'm sure my pals will have some some great ideas for me to add to my inventory!

Jennifer @ Dimples & Tangles

I'm thrilled to introduce our guest this month, Kelley @ Kelley Nan. She couldn't be more
perfect for our topic ~ her tablescape skills are unmatched, and her style...stunningly elegant!
Oh, and she makes it look effortless!
It's easy to access her beautiful collection of tablescape photos here!
How gorgeous is this Fall Table she put together this year?!!

Here are a few of my go to entertaining items that I couldn't live without:

#1
Domed Cake Plate
A cake plate isn't just for cake ~ this is my favorite to take anything up a notch!
Actually, years ago our tenants left it behind and gifted it to me when they moved out of
state. :) I saw this very similar one, the price is CRAZY inexpensive and 5 Star Reviews!

I use mine for everything ~ cakes, pies, pastries, breads.
It's great for brunch items like quiche, or ramekins of yogurt or granola.
It even makes sandwiches feel a bit more gourmet.

#2
Simple DIY Table Runner
I love using a fabric table runner to add a pretty dose of color and pattern.
It couldn't be more simple, just a yard or so of fabric, with the edge ironed under.
The black and white stripe fabric is an IKEA print.
** I spy a cake plate!**

#2a
In addition to the fabric table runner,
a collection of tall candles always make a statement!

#3
Kate Spade Salt & Pepper Shakers
These were a gift from a friend a few years ago, and I loved them so much I've
since gifted them as well.
Fairmount Park Stripe & Dot Salt & Pepper Set are my favorite to give your table
that eclectic flair. The black, white and gold color combination and simple bold
print easily mix with other serving piece patterns.

#4
White Hotel Dinner Napkins
I've had my same white dinner napkins for years, maybe 15 or more. You all
know I love a bargain but it's worth spending more for quality here, they've been
bleached a zillion times, are perfectly square and still look like new. Mine are
from William Sonoma, but I'm wondering if the quality has changed over the years,
some of the reviews are iffy.

#5
Mini Mason Jars
Everything is more fun served in a cute little mason jar, right? They're ideal for
individual appetizers and desserts. I found mine at Walmart,
I have 24 of the 4 oz jelly jars, and 24 of the 8 oz jelly jars.
I like to do mini pies in the fall and strawberry shortcakes for summer BBQs.
